New Sony megapixel cameras deliver outstanding results for security professionals

At Security Essen 2008, Sony will exhibit a wide range of products including their new Megapixel range of Mini-dome and fixed network security cameras, which combine outstanding resolution with advanced Sony image processing, delivering exceptional solutions for security professionals.  From surveillance and wide area monitoring to identification and response, Sony Megapixel cameras give your security team confidence in even the most difficult conditions.Help when you need it mostThe Megapixel range of cameras incorporate the latest image processing technologies from Sony that work together to provide clear images and enhanced sensitivity in low or harsh lighting conditions.1.3 Megapixel resolution - providing the detail and image quality you need for identification of faces, clothing, vehicles, and analysis of events, without creating prohibitive file sizes.Unique ExwavePRO progressive scan CCD with colour filters - gives you images with all detail you need to identify suspicious people or objects without visible artifacts and motion blur.  Combined with the new CMYK colour filters, higher sensitivity can be achieved even when monitoring moving objects.Light Funnel function - enhances camera sensitivity in low-light conditions.  When applied, Light Funnel function combines two pixels horizontally and two pixels vertically to create up to 4x enhanced sensitivity.  Alternative technologies often use slow shutter speeds to achieve higher sensitivity, which leads to blurring; Light Funnel function retains crisp images even when used at night. The right information for your securityThe Megapixel range uses Sony Intelligent Motion Detection to cut out false alarms and to alert your security staff to security threats. Each organisation is different and your team can create a system that is designed to meet the security needs of your business.  Sony Intelligent Motion Detection can be configured by your security team to quickly identify risks and threats and respond faster ensuring you provide protection for people, property and products.Intelligent Motion Detection can differentiate between natural motion such as leaves moving in a car park, and an intruder entering the camera's field of view.  This analysis of the video image reduces the number of false alarms your security team responds to. A choice of indoor or outdoor Mini-dome and fixed camerasThe Megapixel range includes indoor and outdoor cameras to meet virtually any application.  This range includes:The SNC-DM160 ruggedised Mini-dome day-night camera.  A 3.6x zoom lens and viewing angle of over 100 degrees is protected by IP66 rated vandal-resistant housing and can automatically switch from day to night mode depending on ambient light conditions. The SNC-DM110 Mini-dome indoor camera, with 3.4x zoom lens and Sony patented Ball-Joint Lens Mount mechanism is suitable for corporate, retail, education, airports, stadiums and public applications. The SNC-CM120 C-Mount boxed camera gives you excellent coverage indoor and outside and is ideal for entrance, lobby, concourse and external surveillance applications.Visit Sony at Security Essen 2008 from 7-10 October - Hall 2, Booth 334

Sony introduces two new intelligent 360 degree speed dome cameras - the SNC-RX530 and SNC-RX570
Sony introduces two new intelligent 360 degree speed dome cameras - the SNC-RX530 and SNC-RX570

With the introduction of the SNC-RX530 and SNC-RX570, Sony now offers a complete family of intelligent network speed dome cameras. The new SNC-RX530 sits at the entry-level, with the established SNC-RX550 as the mid-range solution and the new SNC-RX570 at the high end.  This choice allows users to select the model that offers the optimum price/performance ratio for their surveillance needs. The original SNC-RX550 has a 26x optical zoom, enabling it to zoom in on small or distant objects with exceptional clarity.  The new models offer different zoom capabilities to match different application needs.  For example, the SNC-RX530 has an 18x optical zoom for less zoom-intensive surveillance activities, while the SNC-RX570 has a massive 36x optical zoom for applications that need the best-possible performance. All three models also offer a 12x digital zoom that, when combined with the optical zoom, expands the maximum zoom capability even further to 216x (RX530), 312x (RX550) and 432x (RX570). Furthermore, these high-performance, highly versatile cameras also offer fast 360º endless panning and a tilt range of 90º.  This allows users to precisely monitor almost any object surrounding the camera.  And with the Auto Flip function, they can also "chase" a target passing under the camera, such as a person walking or running down a corridor. Advanced functionality - across the family All SNC-RX models are equipped with a 1/4-type CCD featuring Exwave HAD technology.  This provides high sensitivity at low light levels - even infrared conditions when used with the Day/Night function - making the cameras suited to 24x7 outdoor security applications, such as car-park monitoring. Users can choose from three video compression formats: JPEG, MPEG4 and H.264, as well as three different picture sizes: VGA, QVGA and QQVGA.  Plus, both JPEG and MPEG4 video can be streamed simultaneously; JPEG over a local network for recording and MPEG4 over the Internet for monitoring. Furthermore, on the new SNC-RX530 and SNC-RX570 - and with the latest firmware update for the SNC-RX550 - camera intelligence has been taken to the next level.  The Intelligent Motion Detection function now has a modified GUI and a detection algorithm that keeps more consistent ID tags on moving objects.  While Intelligent Object Detection features an improved detection algorithm with sensitive auto-iris adjustment that reduces false alarms. Bi-directional audio has also been improved.  Users can still monitor audio from the camera side (via an optional microphone) and play out live or pre-recorded audio (via an optional speaker), but an improved audio upload tool means they can now also transmit audio to multiple cameras at the same time.
