Honeywell Rapid Eye™ Hybrid HD DVR provides reliable access remotely, locally and at limited bandwidth
Honeywell Rapid Eye™ Hybrid HD DVR provides reliable access remotely, locally and at limited bandwidth

With 16 channels capable of supporting images from analogue and IP surveillance cameras, the hybrid nature of the Rapid Eye™ Hybrid HD DVR makes it an ideal solution for customers at all stages of their journey from analogue to IP, providing a flexible, scalable offering that allows them to migrate at their own pace.  Additional IP cameras can be installed without the need for extra licences and Rapid Eye Hybrid HD will automatically identify their dynamic address on a network. Rapid Eye Hybrid HD can record, search and transmit video, audio and data transactions while simultaneously providing users with both live monitoring and post-event playback operation. Significantly, the product's highly interactive user interfaces - complete with PTZ mouse control - are available remotely, locally and at a limited bandwidth, offering customers increased ease of use and flexibility of operation which in turn reduces training time and boosts employee productivity. The Rapid Eye Hybrid HD has the added benefit of full integration with the suite of Honeywell security products including MAXPRO® VMS, WIN-PAK® and Pro-Watch® access control platforms. This robust access control integration, combined with its strength as a loss prevention analysis tool with an in-built, PCI compliant, data capture capability makes Rapid Eye Hybrid HD DVR a perfect application for retail deployments in particular. The range of data storage options offered by Rapid Eye Hybrid HD runs from 500 GB to 4 TB. In order to optimise its storage capacity, the product uses H.261/263 proprietary codecs to compress images providing better picture quality, lower file sizes and more video storage volume than an MPEG-4 model. Other features that boost the product's effectiveness include Rapid Clip - which simplifies, speeds up and protects remote clip generation to a USB device or internal DVD-RW - and the Rapid Eye with Active Alert® option which incorporates eight channels of intelligent video analytics and standard Rapid Eye functionality to enable false alarm reduction.

Honeywell introduces entry-level IP video system ideal for small businesses

Honeywell has released a complete high-definition video surveillance system ideal for small business owners who need sharper image quality typically associated with larger, more expensive security systems. The entry-level system combines Honeywell's new MAXPRO NVR (network video recorder) XE with the latest additions to its line of low-cost Performance Series IP cameras, and further eases the transition from analogue to digital video for smaller companies such as retail and convenience stores, healthcare centres and professional office buildings."Many organisations think switching from analogue to IP video is cost-prohibitive, especially for small-to-mid-size businesses, but the MAXPRO NVR XE family aims to dispel that myth by providing high image quality alongside truly affordable technology," said Ulrich Hopfstock, product marketing manager EMEA, Honeywell Security Group. "This system was designed to capture sharp pictures, be affordable for smaller businesses, and be as easy as a DVR for a dealer to set up and operate, even with limited IT knowledge."Honeywell's MAXPRO NVR XE solution currently supports PSIA video standards and will be expanded to support ONVIF video standards in Q4 2011. It includes four recommended entry-level, indoor and outdoor IP cameras recently added to the company's Performance Series line. The resulting image quality can assist investigations by helping companies more accurately identify objects, people and activities captured on video.Additionally, the system helps operators quickly assess alarm event information by simultaneously displaying alarm, pre-alarm, post-alarm and live video. It also allows operators to view live video while performing searches, and includes Honeywell's patent-pending Video Surround feature that helps security personnel more efficiently track suspects as they move between areas. The MAXPRO NVR XE offers 8 or 16 channels, a local monitoring display, and supports the HD format. To simplify installation, the total solution comes with pre-installed software and camera licenses for quick setup and system scalability.
