Smart cameras for challenging lighting conditions: Bosch presents its 1080p HDR cameras

With the launch of its latest 1080p HDR cameras, Bosch Security Systems is setting the standard for High Definition imaging. Featuring intelligent backlight compensation, adaptive noise reduction and outstanding color reproduction, the Dinion and FlexiDome cameras deliver exceptional image quality and a very wide tonal range – even under the most demanding lighting conditions. Integrated, state-of-the-art Intelligent Video Analysis functionality enables more effective surveillance, while compression capabilities ensure minimum bandwidth requirements. A cast-aluminium enclosure withstands the equivalent of 55 kilograms (120 lbs) of force, making it ideal for vandal prone areas and outdoor use. High quality images at all times and under all conditions 1080p HDR cameras use digital imaging technology to deliver remarkable image quality at all times, in both bright and dark environments. Even in high-contrast scenes, or when looking from dark locations into well-lit areas the devices deliver an exceptionally wide dynamic range, to capture more detail in both highlights and shadows. The true day/night cameras deliver images in color or monochrome and switch automatically between the two modes depending on the illumination level. Either mode can also be selected manually via the alarm input, or remotely via a web browser. Outstanding image quality is complemented by the integrated HD-optimized Intelligent Video Analysis and image processing. Important details such as specific objects, license plates or faces are detected automatically and the scene exposure level is adjusted accordingly to increase the usability of the results. To further enhance effectiveness ‘regions of interest’ can be defined. This allows zooming into certain details of the full image. The close-up images are transmitted in a separate stream so that both overview and detail can be viewed at the same time – and all in high resolution. Furthermore, the cameras come with a choice of telephoto, mid-range, and ultra wide-angle lenses, helping to create tailored solutions for unique requirements. Professionalism embraces user-friendliness While delivering highly professional results, Bosch’s 1080p HDR cameras are easy to install, operate and maintain. Three power options, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), 24 VAC and 12 VDC are available. To increase system reliability, the cameras can be simultaneously connected to both PoE and 12 VDC/24 VAC supplies. To ensure that the technology of the 1080p HDR cameras remains state-of-the-art, remote upgrades are possible whenever new firmware becomes available. An intuitive user interface allows fast and easy configuration over IP to ensure smooth operations. The installation and configuration is supported by the Bosch Video Client Software which is delivered free-of-charge with any HD camera. It also provides easy live viewing of multiple cameras, playback, forensic search and export.  Certified interoperability For multiple camera surveillance set-ups, the interoperability of various devices is a crucial factor to ensure cost-efficiency and functioning of the devices. All 1080p HDR cameras conform to the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) which guarantees interoperability between network video products regardless of the manufacturer. ONVIF conformant devices are able to exchange live video, audio, metadata and control information. They are automatically discovered and connected to network applications such as video management systems.

Bosch launched series of firsts to demonstrate total solutions capability
Bosch launched series of firsts to demonstrate total solutions capability

At IFSEC 2006, Bosch Security Systems utilised a new stand design complete with a purpose-built demo suite to highlight its total security solutions capability, evident through its complete range of proven reliable, intruder, CCTV and communications technologies.Included within its intruder portfolio, and being seen for the first time in the UK, is the Abacus Evolution, an innovative intruder alarm panel range comprising two models designed for Grade 2 and Grade 3 residential and commercial applications that removes the burden of EN compliance and is quick and easy to install.  Abacus Evolution offers the highest levels of protection, whilst meeting and even exceeding the stringent false alarm requirements laid down by ACPO and the BSIA.Also look out for Blue Line, a new generation of aesthetically designed, high technology intrusion detectors that provide the optimum performance and maximum flexibility for installers working in virtually any residential/light commercial environment.Completing a hat-trick of new launches is the Connetix range of security communication products for intrusion and fire systems, offering reliable data transmission over a wide range of transmission paths and formats, and a turnkey solution for all audio and video verification needs.Within its CCTV portfolio, Bosch Security Systems will be showing the DiBos 8 family of powerful, network-oriented digital video surveillance and recording systems featuring advanced MPEG-4 digital encoding technology for the highest levels of image quality, information content, and data storage efficiency.  The new machine, which complements its highly successful DIVAR range, allows viewing of both live and recorded images on as many as 62 video channels (per unit), and has extensive communication, networking and systems interfacing features. Alongside the DiBos 8 is the Dibos Micro, ideal for smaller installations with a slimline desktop housing.  It allows the viewing of both live and recorded images on as many as 20 video channels with up to 12 audio channels, and has an internal storage capacity of 400 GB.The company’s IP credentials will be evidenced through its range of Cameras, including the latest Dinion IP high performance surveillance cameras delivering up to 25/30 images per second of DVD-quality video at a true 4 CIF MPEG-4 video resolution, and its Network Video Recorders (NVRs).  Bosch IP Network Video products are compatible with any existing analogue components installed. In the area of Public Address and Voice Evacuation, Bosch Security Systems has launched a new range of loudspeakers in line with market demand for the latest technology that combines optimum reliability and performance with a contemporary look and feel. The first of the four new product ranges is the EVAC Horn loudspeaker, available in 14”/25W and 20”/35W versions with maximum power outputs of 37.5W and 52.5W respectively and a frequency range of 550 – 5 kHz and 280 – 5 kHz.  Both are modular in concept, featuring high efficiency drivers and offering excellent speech reproduction. Both are similarly EVAC compliant. Also new is the Economy cabinet/column range comprising cabinet speaker, corner speaker and column speaker versions.  All feature modern styling, and are available from 6W up to 36W depending on model.  All are easy to install, and although low cost, offer good sound quality for the investment.Third of the new products to be launched are the new Metal Sound Projectors made from extruded aluminium and delivering very high quality speech and music reproduction.  The projectors are available in either a 20W version or a 12W Bi-Directional version and are both EVAC compliant. With the new products, Bosch Security Systems will also show its proven Praesideo technology - the world's first fully digital public address and emergency sound system characterised by the flexibility in the system configuration, simplicity in installation and high-quality audio reproduction.  Completing its display will be the Plena range of PA solutions that can be configured from relatively modest applications up to the largest, multi-zone sites, and is fully compatible with the broad Bosch range of microphones and loudspeakers.
