Arecont Vision and Instek announce NVR Integration with H.264 Megapixel Cameras

Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, and Instek Digital, the leader in NVR and Hybrid DVR solutions are pleased to announce their extended partnership, to offer a seamless and fully integrated solution with the industry's first full line of H.264 megapixel IP cameras. "Our proven success in IP megapixel technology has built a strong track record for NVR integration partnerships," said Scott Schafer, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Arecont Vision. "Arecont Vision's megapixel imaging technology together with the recording expertise of Instek offers our combined clientele the most advantageous megapixel technology experience." With up to 10 times higher compression than standard MJPEG, Arecont Vision's H.264 line of megapixel cameras offers the perfect combination of high resolution and bandwidth efficiency at competitive price point. Instek Digital intelligently manipulates the video and combines it with a state of the art robust video management solution, which is both scalable and reliable. "The megapixel camera technology is the driving force for the industry to switch from an analog to an IP solution," said Albert Pan, Chief Executive Officer, Instek Digital. "Arecont Vision's megapixel imaging with the latest H.264 high compression technology alleviates the budgetary concerns of huge storage requirements. With years of R&D development that Instek Digital has cultivated on a complete H.264 solution, users can deploy and take advantages of this new integration immediately."Instek Digital has recently featured this collaboration in a full-scale installation at the Kickapoo Casino in Harrah, Oklahoma. The casino features deployment of the Arecont Vision AV1305/AV1305DN H.264 cameras combined with the Instek Digital state-of-the-art hybrid digital video surveillance and video management solution. Fully compliant with the regulation of all Gaming Commissions, Instek Digital understands the unique surveillance requirements of a dynamic casino environment.

The camera features Arecont Vision's H.264 compression technology providing full frame rates at full resolution as well as multi-streaming capabilities to allow transmission of several H.264 video streams at various video formats, frame rates and/or resolutions."Our new dual sensor day/night H.264 megapixel camera solution is the first of its kind using H.264 encoding for varying sensor formats within the same camera. In addition to advantages in bandwidth and storage efficiency, the technology provides far greater sensitivity compared to single sensor day/night solutions," said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. The Arecont Vision AV3135 has two 1/2" CMOS sensors - a 3 megapixel colour image sensor and a separate 1.3 megapixel black and white sensor - to ensure the highest image quality and best sensitivity regardless of light levels. The individual pixels on the black and white sensor are larger to provide higher sensitivity in low light. The black-and-white sensor is also infrared sensitive, making the AV3135 ideal for extreme dark conditions.Incorporating proprietary MegaVideo® image processing and using Arecont Vision's fully compliant implementation of H.264 compression, the megapixel day/night camera uses up to 10 times less bandwidth and storage compared to cameras using only MJPEG compression.Additionally, the Arecont Vision AV3135 Dual Sensor Day/Night camera has no moving mechanical parts and is complemented by state-of-the-art surveillance software, the AV100, capable of live image acquisition and display from multiple cameras. Users can zoom-in live or after an event while recording the full field-of-view in high definition, replacing pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) devices. Up to four virtual cameras can be streamed by selecting regions of interest within an image and acquiring them independently. Switching between the 3 megapixel day sensor to the night sensor with 1.3 megapixels is automatic and may also be manually toggled.

Arecont Vision unveils new Compact H.264 cameras

Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, introduces a new line of lower-cost H.264 compact megapixel cameras that are half the size and a third of the weight of previous models. The model AV1315 1.3 megapixel camera and the model AV2815, 1080p HD camera are easy to install and can now fit into smaller housings and domes. Unveiled at ESSEN 2010, model AV1315 provides 1280x1024-pixel (1.3 megapixel) images at 32 frames per second, and model AV 2815 provides 1920x1080-pixel (2.07 megapixel) images at 24 frames per second. Both camera models use H.264 compression to minimise bandwidth and storage requirements. The cameras are also fully compatible with the PSIA (Physical Security Interoperability Alliance) industry standard and have passed PSIA conformance tests. Each is also available in a Day/Night version (Model AV1315DN or Model AV2815DN). The units are powered via PoE eliminating the need for auxiliary power. "Our new compact H.264 megapixel cameras set a new bar for performance and price in the market giving yet another compelling reason to ‘Go Megapixel' in any surveillance application," said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. "The attractive price points of these new cameras reflect a 20% to 25% price decrease compared to previous models making them even more cost competitive against standard definition IP and analogue cameras. And, the user gets the full benefit of much greater image resolution and functionality in a smaller camera." The new Arecont Vision compact camera models also provide added functionality. The privacy mask enables video to be blocked in multiple regions in any arbitrary shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024 distinct motion detection zones (compared to 64 zones supported earlier). These features are controlled via both HTTP and TFTP commands and by the on-camera web interface. Flexible cropping provides even more adjustability in image sizes.Arecont Vision's complete line of cameras range in image resolution from 1.3 to 10 megapixels, including camera models providing advanced capabilities such as dual sensor day/night and panoramic viewing. Compact JPEG and compact H.264 cameras lead the price/performance curve. The Arecont Vision line also includes the MegaDome® Series of all-in-one dome cameras and the new MegaView™ line of all-in-one Day/Night/IR H.264 megapixel cameras enclosed in IP-66 and vandal-resistant bullet-style housings.
