Michael Martin

Michael Martin is Midwest Division President of Universal Protection Service, overseeing operations, business development, client relations, fiscal planning and strategic analysis, while supporting more than 10 branch offices with 5,000-plus employees throughout the Midwest and Canada. Prior to joining Universal in 2015, Mr. Martin was Vice President Regional Manager for Guardsmark where he spent 23 years. During his career at Guardsmark, he rose up the ranks from uniformed Security Professional to Learning & Development Specialist, followed by Operations Manager and Vice President of Midwest Division. Previous to Guardsmark, Mr. Martin worked internationally in the defense industry as a cyber analyst. Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and an MBA from University of Michigan. Additionally, he was an Overseas Scholar at Michigan State University and attended Cambridge University and the Bramshill Police Staff College in England, where he interned with the Staffordshire Police force. Mr. Martin is a licensed Private Investigator and is active in ASIS International, Michigan Council of Private Investigators, and also supports numerous charitable causes in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
