James Chong, CEO & founder launched Vidsys in 2005 with its transformational Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software platform. James has over 20 years of management and technology experience in software, IT, video surveillance, security, and complex systems and is a world-class subject matter expert, entrepreneur and innovator. His vision for developing a highly-specialised product-driven business with focus on specific vertical market segments led to the development of several industry-leading software applications, including RiskShield. With a unique combination of technology expertise, product strategy, and business acumen, James is expanding the current Vidsys capabilities to meet the growing market demand for its PSIM software and also to scale the company beyond physical security, into the information management and Internet of Things (IoT) markets by leveraging Vidsys web-enabled software to implement intelligent cloud-based and virtualised solutions with advanced connectivity, data correlation, and global risk management. James is a recipient of International Data Group’s “InfoWorld Top CTO 25 Award” where he was recognised for his business management leadership and converged security technology innovation. He also helped coin the term “PSIM” back in 2006, which has evolved to become an exciting new growth category within the physical security market today. A frequent author and speaker, he routinely contributes to professional publications and industry organisations globally, focusing on PSIM, physical security technologies, command center design and operations, Intelligent Transportation Systems, video surveillance and related topics.
