Dr. Terence Liu leads Trend Micro's Network Threat Defense Technology Group to expand the company’s footprint to Home and Telecommunication network. He focuses on developing and marketing the distributed security solutions across the telecommunication infrastructure (from Premise to the Edge and to the Core) by leveraging new-generation telecommunication technologies like Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Prior to Trend Micro, Terence was the CEO of Broadweb. He turned over the company by defining and creating its DPI licensing business, and made the company become profitable for five years in a row. BroadWeb was finally acquired by Trend Micro in October 2013.Terence earned the PhD and M.S. degree in Computer Science from National Tsing-Hua University, and holds several patents and IEEE/ACM publications.
