Verkada, a pioneer in cloud-based physical security solutions, announced a new Integrations Program for technology partners. Verkada's Integration Program will enable its customers to more easily manage multiple systems through a growing set of supported integrations. "Verkada's new Integrations Program will expand the interoperability of our powerful platform across even more complex environments and use cases," said Filip Kaliszan, Co-founder and CEO. "Continuing to develop more native integrations with trusted technology partners will unlock more value for our more than 20,000 customers globally." Verkada video security cameras Verkada clients can enable local law enforcement to access security cameras in an emergency To date, Verkada has launched integrations with Fūsus, HiveWatch, SingleWire Software, and Sureview. With Fūsus, an Axon company that delivers a technology-agnostic Real-Time Crime Centre platform, Verkada customers can enable local law enforcement to access security cameras in an emergency situation. One example of this is the Winston-Salem Police Department: "Winston-Salem's Real Time Crime Centre (RTCC) seamlessly integrates Verkada video security cameras and alerting features into the FUSUS platform. This new integration has bolstered our operational efficiency and enabled us to combat crime even more effectively," said Ben Jones, Lieutenant at the Winston-Salem Police Department. "We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of both our citizens and officers, and the Verkada-Fūsus integration has played a critical role in resolving numerous incidents such as shootings and robberies, and notably, it has led to the successful apprehension of two homicide suspects." SureView's security operations With HiveWatch, a Security Operation Centre platform, Verkada's enterprise customers can seamlessly combine devices with a GSOC solution. With Singlewire Software, a developer of mass notification and incident management solutions like InformaCast, Verkada customers can benefit from altering capabilities across text, audio and visual channels. With SureView, a Physical Security Information Management solution, Verkada customers can pair their cameras to SureView's security operations platform to improve their response to real-time events across their organisation.
SureView Systems, the globally renowned open response platform provider for security operations teams and ShotSpotter, a global company in precision policing technology solutions that enable law enforcement to more effectively respond to, investigate and deter crime, have announced the integration of their intelligence-based flagship technologies. The integration of ShotSpotter’s gunshot detection system with SureView’s Next-Generation PSIM, (Physical Security Information Management) platform, improves the ability of security operations centres (SOC) to effectively manage real-time responses to gunshots. SureView Systems – ShotSpotter partnership ShotSpotter uses acoustic sensors to reliably detect and accurately locate gunshots. Alerts are produced within 60 seconds of trigger pull and include the location of the gunfire, number of rounds fired, and details about whether there were multiple shooters or high-capacity weapons used. When paired with SureView Response, SOC operators can see a map showing where shots were fired When paired with SureView Response, SOC operators can see a map showing where shots were fired and immediately view the closest live video stream to provide responding investigators with critical situational awareness, before arriving on the scene. Gunshot detection integration with PSIM platform Sam Klepper, ShotSpotter’s Senior Vice President, said the integration of gunshot detection offers valuable data for users of SureView’s cloud-based PSIM technology. Sam Klepper stated, “The combination of ShotSpotter’s gunfire alerts with SureView’s PSIM gives security operations teams the tactical information they need to respond and protect people in a single, manageable view of events.” Enhanced situational awareness in gunshot-related events Simon Morgan, the Chief Product Officer of SureView Systems, said integrating the ShotSpotter gunshot detection was a natural enhancement of SureView’s next-generation PSIM platform. Simon Morgan comments, “ShotSpotter’s technology provides a tremendous amount of information, providing the SOC and its field teams with the situational awareness required to best respond to gunshot-related events. ShotSpotter is an immediate addition to our PSIM platform, helping SureView users make more sense of critical events.”
SureView Systems, the globally renowned open response platform provider for running security operations and Calipsa, a market-renowned provider of deep-learning powered video analytics for false alarm reduction, have announced the integration of their cloud-based flagship technologies. The integration of Calipsa’s software with SureView’s next-generation physical security information management (PSIM) platform improves the ability of security command centres to manage and respond to video alarm events. Calipsa – SureView Systems partnership Calipsa’s false alarm reduction software easily integrates with the SureView PSIM platform and quickly deploys with no on-premises hardware required. Once a video alarm is triggered on a connected camera, a SureView server sends video to a Calipsa server, where algorithms look for human and vehicle movement before returning genuine alarms. Filtering up to 95% of false alarms significantly reduces the chance of SOC operators missing or being delayed in their response to an actual event. The filtering process takes about a second to complete. False alarm reduction technology - PSIM platform integration Brian Baker, the Chief Revenue Officer for Calipsa, said the integration of false alarm reduction technology into the PSIM platforms is an example of SureView’s dedication to protecting its customer’s people and assets. Brian Baker stated, “SureView's PSIM platforms automatically filter and prioritise input from multiple disparate security and related systems, to present the SOC with alarms and events requiring immediate attention. The addition of our software vastly reduces false alarms, enabling operators to respond more effectively and efficiently, without unnecessary delays.” Reduction in false alarms helps SOCs The number of video alarms in a typical SOC can overwhelm even the best-trained staff" Simon Morgan, the Chief Product Manager of SureView Systems, said the integration of Calipsa false alarm software is a valuable enhancement for users of SureView’s next-generation PSIM platforms. Simon Morgan stated, “The number of video alarms in a typical SOC can overwhelm even the best-trained staff. This partnership with Calipsa virtually eliminates nuisance alarms and the many operational bottlenecks they cause. End-users may deploy the Calipsa software right out of the box with our PSIM platform.” Technology integration Calipsa’s artificial intelligence-based false alarm reduction software uses deep-learning technology to automatically identify humans and vehicles, while ignoring alarms generated by weather, blowing foliage or stray animals. SureView’s open, easy-to-use PSIM platform uses AI to help SOCs improve security outcomes, by providing operators with the data and procedures required, in order to resolve alarm situations shown on a single display. The PSIM platform is available in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, enabling end users to subscribe to additional services, as security needs change.
Insights & Opinions from thought leaders at SureView Systems
Digital video systems are driven by software, whether it’s in the cloud, installed on an off-the-shelf server, contained inside a dedicated appliance, or even inside the camera at the edge. Like many elements used for physical security, video management software (VMS) is changing with the times and to meet new challenges in the market. We asked this week’s Expert Panel Roundtable: What are the key trends in video management systems (VMSs)?
Body-worn cameras are becoming more common every day, driven both by needs of the marketplace and technology developments. However, questions remain about the usefulness of the devices, and their future role in promoting safety and security. We asked this week’s Expert Panel Roundtable: What are the challenges of body-worn cameras for the security industry?
In recent years, information technology (IT) departments at end user companies have often been seen as adversaries of traditional security departments – or, at least, as a thorn in their side. One of the issues is territorial: As physical security products have migrated to use of Internet protocols and the network infrastructure, the IT and security departments have clashed – erm… make that interacted – more and more often. New realities such as cybersecurity have made it critical that the two entities work in harmony, and IT professionals often provide useful insights into product selection, among other issues. We asked this week’s Expert Panel Roundtable: What is the influence of the IT department on security purchases at an end user company?
