Brook Jackson
Managing director, 4Sight Imaging

Brook graduated of the University of Liverpool with an honours degree in Physics in 1979. He worked extensively in safety critical control systems (mining, railway signaling) before embarking on his career in computer vision in 1983 when he joined a venture capital funded start-up company to undertake and ultimately manage product development processes. He later joined the department in the University of Manchester responsible for the core technology used in his previous company as their industrial liaison and technology transfer manager. In his time at the University, Brook was responsible for facilitating a number of technology transfer and near market development projects. In 1996 Brook was key in spinning-out a new venture funded company called ‘kestra’ formed to develop automated printed circuit board inspection products from ground-breaking research recently completed in the University. Brook’s role within ‘kestra’ was as Technical Director a role he retained after the company was acquired by CyberOptics Corp of Minneapolis, in 1999. He left what was then CyberOptics Ltd. in the summer of 2004 to form 4Sight Imaging Ltd with his colleague Andrew Hill.
