Axis to showcase a series of fixed domes with HDTV and unique installation capabilities at IFSEC
Product Profile
Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, will showcase a range of new network cameras at this year's IFSEC. Visitors to the centrally located Axis stand (E90) will have the opportunity to see the range of new cameras and encoders in action. The network cameras range from the smallest and smartest wireless cameras, to day and night cameras capable of delivering exceptional image detail. Axis will also demonstrate new levels of interoperability with a prototype of its award-winning AXIS P3301 network camera with support for the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) specification.
In addition to showcasing a range of new and innovative products, Axis is conducting a press brunch, which will present the opportunity to learn more about key market trends and developments. The session will address how to cost-effectively enhance existing analogue CCTV systems without compromising on image quality or performance, and how open standards will make it easier to take advantage of network video and the benefits and market opportunities they offer. Axis will also have a live video feed from the stand, which can be viewed on the IFSEC website.
Axis has had a busy year, in addition to celebrating its 25 anniversary; the company recently unveiled a number of new products including a new range of fixed domes utilising the H.264 compression standard and a High-performance four-channel video encoder. The AXIS P33 series and AXIS Q7404 were announced at the ISC West exhibition that was held in Las Vegas.
Visitors to IFSEC are also invited to a presentation on the technology drivers in network video, from Axis' marketing director, EMEA, Dominic Bruning, who commented: "In a climate where cost and interoperability are so crucial, it's essential that video solutions step up to these challenges and can deliver cost effective products, which are based on open standards. 2009 certainly sets the scene for an accelerated shift from analogue to network video digital." ‘Technology drivers in network video' will be delivered in the new Product and Technology Showcase Theatre on Wednesday 13th from 1.45pm.
Jonas Andersson, business development manager at Axis and Chairman of the ONVIF steering committee will also be attending IFSEC, Jonas added: "The ONVIF standardisation initiative demonstrates a fundamental shift in network video. This open, global interface for network video products will benefit everyone within the security industry, and I'm looking forward to demonstrating interoperability with the specification at IFSEC."
