Special needs Door Entry Panels range from Videx
Product Profile
To assist in compliance with The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995, Videx Security is now offering a range of special needs Door Entry Panels which will help prevent the discrimination disabled people face when trying to access public buildings using an intercom system. They will be available in different formats with both standard and optional facilities aimed to help people with blindness, deafness and physical disabilities including confinement to a wheel chair.
Standard features include a two line back lit 16 character LCD display capable of showing a range of messages. These include the display of the tenant’s name being called, flat number and ‘door open’ or ‘busy please wait’ messages. A speech board will be provided, capable of audibly announcing the stage of the call in either male or female voice. Calls to a flat can be cancelled simply by pressing another button or the same button again – a useful feature for the visually impaired which helps to prevent accidental disturbance of a tenant if the incorrect flat is unintentionally called.
Optional features of the door panel will be braille, large illuminated buttons, both high level and low level panels, built-in camera and remote camera. Other options available for flat residents include an induction coil for use with hearing aids when answering the intercom phone, a flashing strobe to indicate a call to the flat; extension telephones and sounders; infra-red apartment stations with touch sensitive remote control; interface to standard telephone, camera picture interface to a TV monitor via scart socket and videophones.
The special needs door entry panel only requires a simple two wire installation and flat numbers, tenants names and display messages are easily programmed with PC software.
