Kantech KT-1 Ethernet-ready, one door controller, single gang mount

Product Profile

Kantech, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, the world’s largest pure-play fire protection and security company, announces the release of KT-1, an intuitive single door IP controller, with a unique one touch set-up that brings true security simplification to the industry.

Featuring an attractive and space saving design, the unique form factor of the KT-1 controller can be installed in a variety of locations, from typical door installations in plain view to a traditional security cabinet.

“The KT-1 single door controller was designed with installers in mind. All that is needed is an IP connection, and the push of a unique touch-sensitive button to be up and running in minutes,” said Rafael Schrijvers, Product Marketing Manager, Access Control, EMEA for Tyco Security Products. “This elegantly designed hardware combined with user friendly EntraPass software provides the ultimate experience in access control installation — an intuitive user interface and the flexibility and ease of IP and PoE + for single door installations.”

With its innovative single button enrolment, KT-1 is automatically detected and enrolled on the security management software. There is no need to manually enter MAC/Serial numbers, making it quick and simply to install. To further streamline the installation process, a single KT-1 controller can also act as a head IP controller’ for more than 30 additional controllers when communicating with the EntraPass software. Installers simply push the touch-sensitive button and it automatically talks to the gateway KT-1 controller, thereby reducing the amount of IP connections needed and substantially reducing security set up time.

This one touch set-up, combined with its on-board Ethernet port, Power over Ethernet capabilities and flexible design — featuring interchangeable connections for easy installation or replacement — means the KT-1 controller is extremely simple to install for both security installers and IT specialists.

KT-1 also seamlessly integrates with DSC intrusion alarm panels via direct panel to panel integration. When using the EntraPass software, KT-1 can also be integrated with American Dynamics and Exacq video management systems.

The KT-1 controller is an ideal complement to the EntraPass security management software (v6.02 and higher), including the EntraPass Web application and the EntraPass Go mobile app, creating a highly scalable solution that installs quickly and provides a superior user experience.
