Auguria, a pioneer in AI-powered security operations solutions, announces the appointment of Josh Cowling as its Head of Innovation. A pioneer in cybersecurity and data science, Cowling's role at Auguria will make use of years of industry experience in its quest to reinvent how security operations teams process and prioritise data.
"We are excited to officially bring Josh onto the Auguria team," said Keith Palumbo, Co-Founder and CEO of Auguria. "As we continue evolving modern security data pipelines, we're building a team that shares our vision. Josh is a true visionary and is a perfect fit for moving Auguria forward."
Shaping product direction
Cowling previously was a staff solutions architect with Splunk before becoming an independent consultant and advisor in 2024, which began his collaboration with Auguria. As Auguria's Head of Innovation, Cowling's extensive industry experience will help shape product direction and its Security Knowledge Layer™ (SKL). His addition will support Auguria's mission to change the way cybersecurity and SOC teams engage with data.
"I am thrilled to start this new role at Auguria," said Cowling. "Their technology has the potential to fundamentally change the way that SecOps teams and beyond interact with security data. To be given the opportunity to bring my creativity, research and technical and market experience to the table here is a dream for me. I am excited to see where we're able to take this product."
Cowling's appointment follows Auguria's Splunk Cloud compatibility news, enabling their Security Knowledge Layer (SKL) add-on to improve threat-detection. The compatibility transforms how security teams operate and serves as a milestone in Auguria's goal to help security teams by making things easier, saving money, and providing useful insights.
