New security camera model 300QV-P-CM delivers 180° horizontal angle of view in an IP camera
New security camera model 300QV-P-CM delivers 180° horizontal angle of view in an IP camera

Development concept The security market has recently experienced upgrades of installation infrastructure, and the installation of highly convenient IP cameras is expanding. In addition, large numbers of customers have requested that camera functionality be maximised to allow certain areas of images to be cropped and enlarged. Tamron has therefore developed the Panorama Camera 180-View Model 300QV-P-CM with 180º horizontal angle of view to meet these needs. As the leading manufacturer of optical equipment, this product maximises the delivery of high quality images, and proprietary image processing technology provides a new range of solutions for various monitoring requirements, from analogue to IP. Main features 1. Equipped with a 180º horizontal angle of view fish-eye lens The inclusion of a fish-eye lens provides a 180º horizontal angle of view and images without any blind spots, all with a single camera. 2. High-quality image HD (1.2 mega-pixel) output Dual stream both Quad VGA (as original image) and VGA (as distortion correction image). Both types of image formats can be output simultaneously Comes equipped with effective pixels 2048x1536 sensor (1.2 mega-pixel output). 3. Incorporates proprietary image processing technology Image processing technology developed by Tamron is used to correct inside the camera any distortions in images captured with the fish-eye lens, without requiring special software. The camera can also be controlled with ActiveX-compatible web browsers. Equipped with motion detection function, panoramic display (2-stage), desktop mode, and split display (up to 4-split screens). 4. Mechanics-free construction means greater reliability No mechanical design is required for the pan, tilt and zoom functions of the lens, which gives it greater reliability and eliminates the need for maintenance after installation. Durability is far greater than ordinary speed dome cameras. An IP66 Waterproof Certified design allows installation under eaves or outdoor areas exposed to winds and rain. 5. Three types of image compression formats for greater usability Compatible with multiple codecs such as H.264, MPEG-4, and M-JPEG. Can be used to capture still images or record video. Market standard software is planned to be used for playback. 6. Useful functions during installation A mini-jack terminal has been incorporated for making adjustments during installation, and a simple analogue video output allows captured images to be checked on-site. Compatible with both existing DC 12 V power supplies and PoE power supplies, allowing the power supply to be selected to suit systems used by customers. 7. Other features Audio input/output support. A built-in microphone can be used to record audio along with video images. Aluminium die-cast mold used for the camera body for increased robustness. Comes with anti-drop wire, wall-attachment adapter, and a circular cover Stylish and compact design

Tamron launches 5 megapixel NIR (Near-IR) Vari-Focal lens
Tamron launches 5 megapixel NIR (Near-IR) Vari-Focal lens

Demand for IP/network cameras is growing at an unprecedented speed in the security market. Today’s requirement for high image-quality mandated resolution higher than 5-megapixel / Full HD 1080P. Double Vari-Focal lens system To address the market need, Tamron has released a ‘Double Vari-Focal’ lens system, a complementary lens-pair solution that powerfully supports major security applications: an M13VG288IR (f=2.8-8mm) lens and an M13VG850IR (f=8-50mm) lens to seamlessly cover the entire focal length range from the wide-angle f=2.8mm to the telephoto-end f=50mm. Because of the universal angular field of view coverage being addressed between the two, the solution has received exceptionally high recognition in the market. Demand for large-size 1/1.8” and 1/2” imagers has also grown prominently for surveillance installations in highly populated urban areas, where distinguished resolving power becomes critically important to make the most of the imaging capabilities of 5-megapixel sensors. A new lens, M118VG1250IR, now released by Tamron, specifically addresses the needs in the surveillance market. Tamron, as an integrated optics manufacturer, progressively pursues development of such high-quality and innovative products. M118VG1250IR highlights and features 1. NIR lens covering focal lengths most universally utilised in telephoto applications: The new lens delivers high-quality images throughout the most commonly used focal length range of 12-50mm. Expanding the spectrum coverage to NIR region, the lens enhances and assures high-precision and high-efficiency day-and-night surveillance. 2. High-quality NIR imaging: An ideal lens for day-and-night mega-pixel surveillance with chromatic aberrations well compensated for delivers improved performance in the NIR bandwidth and well-tuned image quality from corner to corner. Tamron’s proprietary optical design with an optimal choice of glass materials backed by high-precision process technology brings an ideal balance in performance to cost 3. Discrete optical design considering low-light conditions: The image circle diameter is expanded to permit compatibility with 1/1.8” imagers widely adopted in the security/surveillance market. A fast aperture of F/1.4 is achieved by a new optical design, while the minimum aperture stops down to F/360. The new lens is also compatible with 1/2” and 1/3” imagers. 4. Substantial reduction of flare and ghosting: The performance of the new lens has gone through extensive validation processes using state-of-the-art simulation, weighed heavily on specific conditions of a wide variety of surveillance scenes. Disturbing flare and ghosting are attenuated to the minimum and Tamron’s proprietary multi-coating technology is employed to thoroughly reducing flare and ghosting. 5. Pursuit of high utility and high reliability: In line with Tamron’s product development philosophy for high reliability, proprietary knowledge and manufacturing know-hows have been extensively utilised for the design and manufacturing of the new lens, M118VG1250IR, similar with other Tamron products. Large rotation angle for faster and easier focusing Slip-mount mechanism for faster and easier camera / lens installation and assembly Highly-reliable auto iris mechanism
