The latest range of i-Pro Smart HD 360 degree network dome cameras from Panasonic, the WV-SW400/WV-SF400 series, are designed with the signature Panasonic reliability and feature Mega Super Dynamic technology that delivers 128x broader dynamic range. These series are composed of the WV-SF438, WV-SF448 and WV-SW458 and 548M. All of the series has 360 degree monitoring capability with a variety of transmission modes including Wall Panorama, Double Panorama and Quad PTZ ensuring precise recording in decided areas. They also have a number of features to enhance image quality, improve the operational efficiency and reduce the burden on the network through enhanced “UniPhier” and 2 areas VIQS. The entire series provides 1080p HD images at up to 30 IPS[1] and because the camera is powered by Panasonic UniPhier®[2] technology, concurrent H.264 and JPEG streams are transmitted, enabling simultaneous real time monitoring and FULL HD recording.  Further, Prioritised Stream Control enables a priority video stream so that when multiple recorders and client PCs are simultaneously accessing the camera, frame rates are continuously maintained and quality of service is ensured for total security continuity. Additionally, face Detection and Mega Super Dynamic range technologies ensure clear and focussed facial images are captured for identification purposes. Face Detection functionality also means that when a registered suspect’s face is observed by the camera, it can automatically be sent and an alarm can be triggered through a compatible network video recorder, alerting security personnel. This effectively adds another set of eyes in a surveillance monitoring team, increasing efficiency and significantly reducing costs. The advanced SW400/SF400 series also feature VMD[3], which can be programmed to trigger email alerts and other alarm outputs when movement is detected in one of the 4 pre-selected areas.  VMD enables security personnel to automatically be notified of possible security concerns and reduce their response time. What's more, with the selectable light control modes in an indoor scene, 50Hz / 60Hz fluorescent lighting has no effect on image quality meaning setup times and costs are significantly reduced and end user satisfaction is maximised. The combination of these features with the Privacy Zone that covers up to 4 private areas such as windows or entrances / exits makes SW400/SF400 ideal where surveillance is needed in complicated site locations.  In addition to the fore-mentioned features, the WV-SF448 and WV-SW458 and 458M have Vandal Resistant capabilities and are designed to fit a variety of unique applications. The WV-SF448 features a vandal resistant mechanism for high reliability as well as a mechanical shutter. The mechanical shutter is situated above the lens and can be opened and closed as necessary. The WV-SW458 and 458M are suited for external applications as well as internal as they possess a dehumidification device as well as an Ingress Protection Rating certified at IP66, taking extreme resistance to the elements to the next level, guaranteeing total dust tightness, and the protection of the camera against even the most powerful jets of water blasted at it from any direction. This means that when located in highly inhospitable positions, even in violent storms, the WV-SW458 will provide the continuity of service needed to meet the highest expectations in the security industry. The ‘M’ version also features an M12 connector which is specifically designed to firmly secure machine-to-machine connections so that cables screw on tightly and lock in place. Panasonic System Networks Europe launch six intelligent new i-Pro SmartHD camerasThe smart six i-Pro SmartHD cameras:With increased market demand for truly converged IP surveillance and communications systems added to a greater than ever expectation for high resolution images, the new range will satisfy both trends whilst also minimising total cost of ownership and maximising efficiency. The first three clever cameras in the i-Pro SmartHD line-up are box type network cameras that yield high data compression rates to minimise network data traffic through the H.264[1] format. WV-SP306 and WV-SP305 HD network cameras plus the WV-SP302 network camera are all scheduled for release in June, 2010. Additionally, Panasonic is also showing off a further three fixed dome network cameras, equipped with 3.6 variable focal auto iris lens, the WV-SF336 and WV-SF335 HD fixed dome network cameras plus the WV-SF332 fixed dome network camera will all become available in July, 2010. Smart thinking redefines image quality and efficient use of networks: The new i-Pro SmartHD cameras are all equipped with Panasonic's proprietary platform UniPhier®[2], and with their H.264 high profile format, high definition video[3] transmission is made possible at up to an impressive 30 frames per second. This brings two immediate advantages from installing i-Pro SmartHD CCTV solutions in any environment. Firstly, a reduced total cost of ownership is achievable because existing secure IP networks can be used. Network data traffic created by CCTV content is squeezed through the high quality H.264 format, more video data can be transmitted down the same cables than before, so for new systems additional costly network cable infrastructure and the labour cost associated with installing it is substantially reduced. VRS[6] is a sophisticated new function that further decreases the burden of CCTV data traffic on the network through capturing images only at HD resolutions in specified sections of the image, for example where property most at threat is located. A camera overlooking a car park need only produce HD images in the areas where cars are parked and not on the walls surrounding that area or an owner of a chain of stores may only require high resolution images of high risk merchandising areas and is less concerned in capturing HD footage of other areas of the shop. The new i-Pro SmartHD cameras are also equipped with Panasonic Super Dynamic technology for a superior dynamic range and face detection capability. In accordance with preset settings, the camera will automatically transfer images and a data log by e-mail, FTP, or HTTP. This lets you check images only when needed, and helps prevent you from forgetting to check them. The camera angle can be varied by remote control for operation of pan and tilt functions (horizontal 108°) to monitor large areas. Sensors and switches can be connected to the camera through two external Input ports and one Output port. The adoption of H.264/ACV has enabled reduction of data volume by more than 30% compared to MPEG-4 when transmitting data of the same image quality. With privacy mode you can shut the camera lens and protect yourself from unwanted exposure. Operation is simple - you only need to push the privacy button. When the subject darkens, the camera automatically adjusts the brightness to show you the image. You can see clear, easy-to-view images even in the dark. The camera´s built-in microphone collects peripheral noise and when camera detects the noise exceeding the threshold it stores the image captured.

Panasonic System Networks Europe (PSNE) announced the introduction of two highly cost effective i-Pro SmartHD security network cameras - the WV-SP105 & WV-SP102. The new cameras record 720p HD images at up to 30 frames-per-second (FPS) with multiple H.264 (High profile) and JPEG video streams. Both cameras employ Panasonic's UniPhier® LSI (Large-Scale Integrated circuit) chip and H.264 High Profile format to deliver real-time video streaming at a lower data size. These affordable cameras are packed with Panasonic features such as Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology for wide dynamic range, Digital Noise Reduction (3D-DNR), and Video Motion Detection (VMD) with four programmable detection areas, 15-step sensitivity levels and 10-step detection sizes. Metadata for the VMD works with Panasonic's Model WJ-ND400 playback VMD function. Privacy Zone can mask up to two private areas, such as house windows and entrances/exits. For both network cameras, progressive scan ensures clear images with less motion blur and no tearing, even when a subject is moving. A primary (RGB) colour filter provides superior colour reproduction.
