Bosch Security Systems extends Dinion camera range with Dinion IP
Bosch Security Systems extends Dinion camera range with Dinion IP

Bosch Security Systems has launched Dinion IP – its proven Dinion camera with integrated IP network connection - in response to the growing market demand for greater flexibility, improved camera functionality, reduced cost of ownership and improved accessibility.Jeremy Hockham, UK Managing Director of Bosch Security Systems explains: “Internet Protocol (IP) has revolutionised the way the world communicates and it is now set to transform CCTV surveillance systems.   Installers are receiving more and more requests for IP-enabled cameras as their customers recognise the benefits of IP-based surveillance installations in comparison to traditional solutions.” Bosch’s Dinion range of fixed cameras was first launched in 2002 meeting the need for affordable, high-performance CCTV imaging, and it then later introduced the DinionXF series to offer high performance Colour and Day/Night models addressing the critical issues of sensitivity and dynamic range. The new Dinion IP cameras combine all the benefits and reliability of the Dinion range with a network video server that transmits video and control data over IP network which means that images can be transmitted to several receivers simultaneously.  Dinion IP cameras have tri-streaming technology: dual MPEG-4 and JPEG compression modes simultaneously allow a dedicated stream at one frame rate for recording and a different stream for live viewing, while JPEGS can be streamed to other devices such as a PDA. With an Ethernet connection and analogue BNC output, Dinion IP cameras offer customers a hybrid solution as they can be connected to existing analogue CCTV equipment, whilst still offering the additional flexibility and scalability of IP-based CCTV systems.  Installation is straightforward and they are easy to configure via the IP network: configuration settings can be stored as computer files and copied from one camera to another and settings can be uploaded to many cameras in the network simultaneously. The Dinion IP and DinionXF IP cameras have in-built intelligent functionality, like alarm management with relay output, event handling, alarm input and motion detection.  Dinion IP is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) standard. PoE means that installation is easy and additional cabling is eliminated as cameras do not require a local AC power source.  An additional benefit with PoE installations is if the network is supported by an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), Dinion IP cameras can continue to operate even when there is a power failure.  Bosch’s DinionXF IP and Dinion IP cameras can be fully integrated into Bosch’s VIDOS Video Management System and DiBos Digital Video and IP Recorder and Transmission System.  These cameras complement the other innovative IP products such as the VIP and VideoJet families of encoders and decoders and the VIDOS and NVR (Network Video Recorder).

Day/Night versions of Bosch DinionXF cameras on show at IFSEC

At IFSEC 2005, Bosch Security Systems displayed two new Day/Night versions of its high-performance, 15-bit DSP DinionXF range.  For round-the-clock surveillance, the DinionXF Day/Night versions feature a built-in infrared filter for daylight surveillance that automatically moves from in front of the lens when the light level falls below a present value (at night infrared is the most useful region of the electromagnetic spectrum for imaging).  For night-time surveillance, the camera also automatically switches to monochrome mode to increase sensitivity. The DinionXF Day/Night versions have built-in, through-the-lens infrared metering and detection that prevent reversion to daylight mode if the camera is illuminated by an infrared source at night.  The IR filter can also be switched manually via the alarm input, through the camera menu or via the Bilinx coaxial bi-directional control interface.  The new cameras also feature SensUp that dramatically enhances the effective sensitivity by decoupling image accumulation from the video output and by increasing accumulation time on the CCD up to ten times.  Bosch’s SensUp works with continuous shutter speed adjustment for the smoothest possible video level control.  SensUp is most effective where the only light is from the moon, stars and scattered radiation. Enhanced night-time imaging guarantees round-the-clock surveillance Lens Wizard automatically detects lens type and sets focus for 24-hour cycle Video Motion Detection allows selection of four fully programmable areas XF-Dynamic feature extends dynamic range for outstanding image quality CCD imaging and DSP technologies enable best possible sensitivity

Bosch AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD
Bosch AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD

Delivering the highest quality of relevant IP video images in all lighting conditions, Bosch Security Systems brings its proven starlight and dynamic technology to the AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family of high-speed pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) domes. Whether capturing video in harsh sunlight or extreme low light, two new models of cameras provide round-the-clock protection regardless of lighting conditions. They ensure maximum image details are captured for traffic and transportation, industrial, government, city surveillance and many other applications faced with difficult lighting and moving objects indoors or out. The new AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD cameras deliver HD video images in extreme low light situations and capture moving objects in 720p HD resolution at up to 60 frames per second. The latest sensor technology combined with sophisticated noise suppression results in a light sensitivity of 0.052 lux in colour mode and even 0.0103 lux in monochrome mode. The AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD produces full colour images in the dark beyond the point where other cameras have turned to monochrome images. Where others show no image at all, the camera still delivers detailed monochrome images. Its ability to capture fast moving objects and excellent performance in extreme low light situations make the AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD ideal for securing parking lots, street corners and similar applications. The AUTODOME IP dynamic 7000 HD camera features wide dynamic range and intelligent backlight compensation technology to ensure that moving objects or those of interest are enhanced and can be easily identified in scenes with simultaneously bright and dark areas, which typically challenge standard cameras. To further improve the quality and relevancy of IP video images, both cameras also feature intelligent de-fog technology to dynamically adjust camera contrast settings to deliver the best quality in scenes affected by fog, smog, mist or other low contrast scenes. Intelligent Video Analysis Another differentiating feature of the AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family is built-in Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA). It helps to focus on relevant situations by alerting you when needed, or to automatically track objects of interest. IVA also adds sense and structure to video data by adding metadata already in the camera. This allows quick retrieval of relevant images from hours of stored video. Metadata can also be used to deliver irrefutable forensic evidence or to optimise business processes based on, for example, people counting or crowd density information. By smartly using the camera’s ability to simultaneously combine 8 of the 15 available IVA rules, complex tasks are made easy and false alarms are reduced to a minimum. Never lose track of objects of interest In video surveillance, moving objects are usually the most significant objects of interest. Intelligent Tracking (iTracking) automatically tracks moving objects based on predefined alarm rules or a simple click. By intelligently distinguishing between single and multiple reference points, iTracking will provide uninterrupted tracking. Optimal capture of the object of interest is assured by dynamically adjusting the field of view. In addition, all AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models feature virtual masking technology. Virtual masks hide unwanted motion, such as swaying trees or pulsating lights, to improve the accuracy and performance of the cameras’ intelligent features without hiding areas from the video seen by the operator. 24/7 remote access and camera control Limited bandwidth makes it impossible to stream HD video on mobile devices whereas, Dynamic Transcoding delivers both smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images when needed, regardless of available bandwidth. Combined with the Video Security app, users are allowed access to camera controls, live video streams and HD images via a mobile device anytime and from anywhere. It also enables you to instantly retrieve the correct video data from hours of recorded material. The new AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models are fully supported by Dynamic Transcoding in combination with either one of the Bosch DIVAR IP recording solutions or a Bosch VIDEOJET transcoder. Lower storage costs and network strain To reduce storage costs and network strain the new AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD and AUTODOME IP dynamic 7000 HD cameras feature intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction (iDNR). The benefit of this intelligent technology is that it leads to bandwidth only being used when needed. When there is little or no movement in the scene, less bitrate is required. Therefore, iDNR actively analyses the scene distinguishing between relevant information, such as moving objects, and image noise artifacts. The degree of noise reduction is adjusted accordingly so that important objects are captured and image noise artifacts suppressed, optimizing the camera’s bitrate. Thus, iDNR saves up to 50 percent on bitrate and hence storage and network strain without compromising video quality. Local storage on the camera further enhances network performance by compensating for short network outages, ensuring that video data is continuously available in Video Recording Manager (VRM) systems without breaks. Dependable operation and easy installation The AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family is available in an in-ceiling housing for areas where discrete installation is important or in a pendant version for indoor and outdoor applications. In-ceiling models feature IP54 and plenum ratings for added dust protection and the ability to mount the camera in areas used for air circulation for heating and air conditioning systems. Pendant models feature a tamper-resistant aluminium housing that is rated to IP66 and NEMA4X for uncompromised functionality even in wet environments – ensuring years of reliable performance. In addition, AUTODOME’s dual power supply design assures continuous coverage even if one power source fails. With pre-terminated, color-coded wiring and a quick-connect system between the camera and mount, AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models are faster and simpler to install than other PTZ domes. Support for High Power over Ethernet also provides power directly to the camera without additional cabling. Bosch IP standard-definition and high-definition cameras, encoders and analytics work seamlessly with a wide range of security software and recording solutions from Bosch and many other industry providers. This is backed by ONVIF conformance (Open Network Video Interface Forum) and the Integration Partner Program (IPP), which gives developers immediate access to software development tools to easily integrate Bosch products with third-party systems.

Highest quality IP video images anytime, anywhere
Highest quality IP video images anytime, anywhere

At IFSEC 2014, Bosch Security Systems took visitors on a technology “journey” showcasing the latest innovations in the world of IP video technology.  Two important technologies that were showcased were 4K ultra HD and starlight technology from Bosch. Both technologies support in delivering the highest quality of relevant IP video images anytime, anywhere.  4K ultra HD technology is enabling you to see every detail, everywhere. This unrivalled level of detail significantly enhances safety and security. Users benefit from superior identification capabilities while viewing live footage and when reviewing events, even when fast moving objects and challenging lighting conditions exist. The first product equipped with 4K ultra HD resolution will be DINION IP ultra 8000 MP that will be introduced during the IFSEC show. This product will be the first product available making 4K ultra HD relevant for IP video surveillance applications. It delivers incredible detail for wide-angle applications while reducing bitrates, network strain and storage costs.  In addition, Bosch showed its starlight HD and MP cameras, which capture video in dimly-lit scenes where other cameras fail and provide color images when others switch to monochrome. Even at night, users benefit by seeing details such as color of clothing or vehicles, which aid in the identification of people and objects and can reduce costs associated with added illumination. After the introduction of the popular DINION IP and FLEXIDOME IP families of 720p fixed cameras, Bosch will introduce a five megapixel camera with starlight technology, the DINION IP starlight 8000 MP. All starlight cameras deliver superior light sensitivity, wide dynamic range, high resolution and the ability to capture fast moving objects, making them the ultimate 24/7 camera for IP video surveillance.  Following the expansion of the starlight family and taking into account the increasing demand for security and safety in extreme application areas, more and more cameras are being deployed in outdoor locations where they are at the mercy of nature and the elements. To ensure continuous operation in harsh conditions like rain, snow and fog to high wind gusts and significant vibration, Bosch Security will reveal its new MIC IP 7000 HD family consisting of  a 1080p wide dynamic range and a 720p starlight version. The imaging performance of this new range of PTZ cameras will ensure optimum video surveillance in challenging conditions like harsh sunlight, low light or even in darkness.  Finally, experience the benefits of our Dynamic Transcoding technology. Limited bandwidth makes it impossible to stream HD video on mobile devices whereas Dynamic Transcoding delivers both smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images when needed. It, in combination with the Video Security app, also enables you to access your video streams anytime and control camera movements from anywhere with your mobile device or retrieve correct data instantly via forensic search. With Dynamic Transcoding we focus on 24/7 remote access and control.
