Proxim Wireless provides 300 Mbps wireless connectivity with the Tsunami 8100 product line
Product Profile
Proxim Wireless Corporation, a leading provider of complete indoor and outdoor wireless broadband ecosystems, has announced the Tsunami™ QB-8100 point-to-point (PtP) and the Tsunami™ MP-8100 point-to-multipoint (PtMP) products for wireless video surveillance. The new Tsunami product family combines MIMO and OFDM technologies with Proxim's Wireless Outdoor Routing Protocol (WORP) to provide best-in-class wireless connectivity for IP video surveillance deployments of all size.
"We have been testing the Tsunami MP-8100, and I can say that with these new products, Proxim has produced an ideal solution for the video surveillance market by introducing the highest performance point-to-multipoint system we've seen," said Tim Stewart, President of Netunwired, a provider of wireless backhaul for broadband networks. (USA).
With these new products, Proxim is offering high-performance wireless backhaul solutions that exceed 100 Mbps performance at the most competitive price point in the market. As a result, these products are capable of supporting more high-definition IP-surveillance video streams simultaneously with a single CPE.
Proxim's Tsunami QB-8100 and MP-8100 provide the ideal wireless video solution for a number of video applications, including:
- Surveillance and perimeter security for educational, healthcare and financial institutions and enterprises of all sizes.
- Public safety organisations depend on archived data from video monitoring systems to reduce vandalism in troubled neighbourhoods.
- Live traffic surveillance is increasingly being used as a tool in community protection.
