GJD announces the launch of the new Clarius Medium Hybrid IP IR/WL LED illuminator

GJD, an Ava Group company, announces the launch of the new Clarius Medium Hybrid IP IR/WL LED illuminator. The Clarius medium Hybrid IP combines advanced Infra-Red and White-Light LED technology, in one unit for increased functionality and ease of installation.                The Clarius Hybrid provides Infra-Red light for monochrome night-time CCTV images, or White-Light for colour images. It is designed to smoothly integrate with IP cameras to provide event triggered lighting to illuminate and deter burglars. Enhance CCTV footage “We already have a large Hybrid as part of our product range, and there was a big demand for us to release the medium to the market. Due to its versatility, the Hybrid is the preferred illuminator of choice for many professional security installers. Instead of having to choose between IR and WL, installers simply specify the Hybrid as it can easily be integrated into any security system. For example, it can provide covert Infra-Red to enhance CCTV footage, or bright White-Light as a visual deterrent,” said Keith Fenwick, GJD’s Technical Director. The installer can take complete control of the settings and programming at any time Fully IP connectable, the Clarius Hybrid uses a remote user-friendly GUI. The installer can take complete control of the settings and programming at any time, from anywhere including power output, photocell sensitivity, and eco mode. If an intruder enters a restricted area on site, there is an option to activate the strobe function which provides an additional intruder deterrent. Interchangeable diffuser system Another key feature is the interchangeable diffuser system with elliptical beam profiles. Allowing light to be delivered exactly where it is needed with minimal light wastage. The new Hybrid illuminator also helps to prevent overexposure of foreground objects, this is especially useful for when the illuminator is integrated with CCTV.     One of the common issues of using cameras with in-built IR lighting, is that the heat source attracts insects and bugs. This blocks the cameras visibility, so the user can’t see the scene properly. For monitored CCTV systems, this will cause a high volume of nuisance activations, which will often result in the camera being deactivated. Higher-quality images The Clarius Hybrid is extremely versatile and offers security installers all the benefits of two illuminators To solve this issue, security installers will disable the internal camera LED’s and fit GJD’s Clarius illuminators, which will remove the heat source from the camera lens and provide brighter higher-quality images. Designed with a robust anodised aluminium heatsink, the installer can be rest assured the Hybrid will last the test of time. It is IP66 rated for durability against harsh environmental conditions, and has an IK09 impact protection rating. The Clarius Hybrid is extremely versatile and offers security installers all the benefits of two illuminators, but in one unit. This reduces cabling, as well as minimises running costs and time spent on site. Dedicated lighting for IP cameras Why use the Clarius medium Hybrid IP IR/WL illuminator? Hybrid illuminator designed to provide dedicated lighting for IP cameras via PoE+ Illumination distances up to 101m (332’) (Infra-Red) and 68m (223’) (White-Light) CleanLITE self-cleaning lens coating technology High quality anodised aluminium heatsinks Direct integration with VMS systems IP66 weatherproof rating and IK09 impact protection rating Built-in photocell on/off vibration/shock sensor IEEE02af compliant 5-year warranty Integrated GUI

BQT Solutions launches new locking technology

BQT Solutions has launched the next generation of its misalignment and sideload release locking solution – the Cobalt Series (YD30D/YD30S). The ground-breaking lock has been developed by BQT Solutions specialists in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-security biometric readers, security access control, and electronic locking products. In addition to its impressive strength and unmatched reliability, the Cobalt Series now uses even less power, making it the most eco-friendly, high-pedestrian door lock in the range. Electronic locking solution Commenting on the release, BQT Solutions’ COO Matthew Nye-Hingston said, “The enhancements made to the Cobalt Series elevate what was already a unique lock to the point where it’s miles ahead of the competition." "By increasing the motor life to over a million operations, improving the sideload release strength, and decreasing unlocking and locking times, the Cobalt will fast become the electronic locking solution of choice for high-usage environments.” Improvements The Cobalt Series' standout improvements include: High Usage Performance – With a cycle life of 1,000,000 cycles, the cobalt series is now suitable for all high-usage environments. This is a 700,000-cycle improvement from the previous 300,000-cycle life. Side Load Release – A key feature of the cobalt series is its ability to unlock even under excessive sideload force. The cobalt series will unlock with 6,000N (1,350 lbf) of sideload force, a 5,000N improvement. Quick Locking and Unlocking – Quick unlocking is critical, which is why the unlocking time has been improved by 50% to less than 0.3 seconds. This is matched with a fast 1-second typical locking time. Low-Cost Running – With any high-security product that is engaged and working 24/7, decreasing the power draw is another key improvement. Now with an initial powerup current of 0.75A@12VDC and a standby current of 40mA@12VDC, the cobalt series is the eco-friendly world leader lock. Cobalt Series demonstration BQT Solutions is the Access business segment of the AVA Group. Ava Group CEO, Mal Maginnis added, “Our highly-skilled development team has worked to ensure that the new Cobalt Series is the best of its kind." "With several international exhibitions planned, we look forward to showcasing this revolutionary locking solution to both current and potential customers in the coming months.”
