Telaeris, Inc., a handheld solution provider for physical access control systems (PACS), has announced their new system integration with IDEMIA from the Security Essen event. Telaeris’s XPressEntry software is now available on IDEMIA’s ID Screen biometric tablets to offer gateless access control, entry / exit tracking, emergency evacuation mustering, and events and training attendance tracking for both commercial and government markets worldwide. “XPressEntry and ID Screen tablets together offer a mobile, modern and easy to implement solution that security and safety professionals need to help them keep any workplace safe and secure,” said Dr. David Carta, CEO of Telaeris. IDEMIA fingerprint identification IDEMIA fingerprint identification is widely used to add two-factor biometric identification to door access readers for secure government and commercial properties worldwide. Adding XPressEntry capabilities to the IDEMIA ID Screen, provides the ability to identify people with a wide variety of fingerprint authentication algorithms, including ISO 19794-2, ANSI/INCITS 378 and the native IDEMIA matcher. Closing the gap Security professionals moving on the ground need more than just radio communications to keep the workplace secure Workplace environments are dynamic and range in a variety of different shapes and sizes. Security and safety professionals are presented with dangers and threats that challenge them as they perform their jobs every day. Security professionals moving on the ground need more than just radio communications to keep the workplace secure. Safety professionals need more than paper rosters at assembly areas to quickly account for everyone after an emergency evacuation has been completed. IDEMIA’s ID Screen biometric tablets and XPressEntry together help to close these gaps. Software capabilities XPressEntry software embedded in ID Screen biometric tablets can verify identity and permissions with badges or biometrics, recording entries / exits where door readers are not practical, quickly muster employees during an emergency evacuation streamlining OSHA / regulatory evacuation guidelines and much more. Validate permissions and authenticate credentials against the identity information on record in the access control database for enhanced physical security and maintain facility occupancy information. XPressEntry provides valuable information stored in the access control system onto ID Screen tablets to be utilized anywhere by security and safety professionals. Software integration XPressEntry and ID Screen tablets together offer a mobile, modern and easy to implement solution “I am very pleased to have XPressEntry software add value to IDEMIA biometric tablets,” said Dr. David Carta, Telaeris CEO, adding “IDEMIA is a leader in biometric validation and by integrating with the ID Screen and IDEMIA’s advanced fingerprint technology, we are able to provide customers with a fantastic mobile method to quickly authenticate employees.” He continues, “With the volume of employees, contractors and visitors going in-and-out of workplaces every day, XPressEntry and ID Screen tablets together offer a mobile, modern and easy to implement solution that security and safety professionals need to help them keep any workplace safe and secure.” Most access control integrations XPressEntry proudly leads the industry with the most access control integrations including AMAG, Apollo, Avigilon, Bosch, Brivo, Dormakaba, DSX, Galaxy, Gallagher, Genetec, Honeywell (WIN-PAK, Pro-Watch and EBI), ICT, IDenticard, IDentiv, LenelS2 (NetBox and OnGuard), Matrix, MAXXESS, Nedap, Open Options, PACOM, Paxton, RS2, Siemens, Spica, Suprema, TKH Security, Tyco (Kantech and Software House) and Vanderbilt (ACTpro and SMS). The Aperio® KS100 Server Cabinet Lock will also be showcased, revealing how easy it is to monitor server cabinets ASSA ABLOY Access Control, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, together with Spica will be presenting an integrated approach to access control within Data Centres at this year’s Data Centre World exhibition. Innovations in access control Held at Excel, London, on 12th and 13th April 2016, ASSA ABLOY Access Control UK and Spica, a leading manufacturer of innovative access control solutions, will be exhibiting their latest innovations in access control at the show on stand E81. The revolutionary Aperio® wireless locking solution will be on display, which is designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them online or offline to new or existing access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises. In addition, the Aperio® KS100 Server Cabinet Lock will also be showcased, revealing how easy it is to monitor server cabinets and data rack access. Aperio® KS100 Server Cabinet Lock Gareth Ellams, Managing Director at ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “We are looking forward to showcasing our successful integration with Spica at this year’s Data Centre World exhibition. “The highlight of this year’s stand is our innovative KS100 Server Cabinet Lock. KS100 secures data against costly accidental downtime, unauthorised access and physical security breaches. It also allows access control to be affordably added to almost any opening in data centres, even if the facility is shared. We are excited to demonstrate how KS100 can significantly upgrade data centre security and provide businesses and their customers with the highest levels of assurance.” Rob Howland, Export Sales Manager at Spica, said: “With the data centre market growing fast, many companies are sharing a data centre location, often even the same rack; to ensure compliance and avoid costly breaches, managing physical access to servers is critical. Visitors to stand E81 will be able to see how we can provide a simple and effective option for data centres to upgrade access control.”
Zone Access consists of Zone Wing and Zone Door elements to make a network of flexible access controllers Spica International, a leader in workforce management solutions, including access control and time and attendance (T&A) software and hardware, has launched its revolutionary new access control platform, Zone Access. The platform consists of two key elements – Zone Wing and Zone Door – that combine to make a network of flexible access controllers that can be matched exactly to users' system design requirements. In addition, access readers can be configured to be real-time time registration points, or auxiliary terminals can be added onto the system to provide richer T&A functionality – delivering simplicity, clever design and cost savings to customers. Zone Wing, the intelligent part of the system, controls all communications with the host system over Ethernet. It stores access profiles and offline events for the points it supervises and communicates with all connected Zone Door units over an innovative CAN subnetwork. Zone Door manages all of the inputs and outputs for access control. Each Zone Door has two card (or biometric) reader inputs, RS485 connection (for various peripherals) and all of the required digital I/O. Each Zone Wing can have up to 32 Zone Door units connected to it, enabling a single ‘controller’ to be built for between 1 and 64 doors. Shortlisted at the IFSEC & FIREX Awards 2013 in the Access Control Product of the Year category, Zone Access was demonstrated for the first time at the IFSEC show last week (C35 Hall 4). "We have developed an access control platform to suit whatever design or physical layout a customer wants" ''The concept is simple and quite unique,'' explains Nick Jakowiw, Managing Director at Spica in the UK. ''We have developed an access control platform to suit whatever design or physical layout a customer wants. One or two channel controllers at each door, localised panels for clusters of doors, fully-centralised panels, or even putting the I/O and readers locally at each door while keeping the intelligence central. Zone Wing and Door does all of this and more.'' The DIN-rail mounting means other ancillary items can be added as required by the customer, from vendors who specialise in such things as power supplies, interposing relays, modems, wireless bridges, etc. Users can also add a modem or additional memory to Zone Wing using the two USB ports if needed. Zone Wing and Zone Door went on sale on 1 May 2013, and is distributed through Spica's subsidiaries and network of partners across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
