barox Kommunikation AG, the manufacturer of professional standard switches, PoE media converters and IP extenders specifically designed for video applications, have been selected to provide secure video management and 90W PoE at the flagship retail space, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. Located on the historic Cribbs Causeway road, just off Junction 17 of the M5 in Bristol, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway comprises 130 stores across two levels and is designed to provide shoppers with a complete retail experience. Outside, the complex includes free parking for 7,000 vehicles, protected by a network of CCTV cameras that provide shoppers with both visual security and safety while they shop and dine. Best surveillance performance With a brief to upgrade an existing piecemeal CCTV system, RAW Fire and Security took over the maintenance and modernisation of the camera network at the site’s car parks. As we wanted to provide The Mall’s security team with the very best surveillance performance, we specified and installed Redvision’s industry leading X4 COMMANDER rugged ball PTZ camera, including on-board illumination.” Replacing analogue cameras Replacing analogue cameras on each of the car park’s poles, the Redvision cameras were required to be connected at the base of each pole for video and data transmission back to the onsite control room, utilising the site’s integrated fibre cable network. Excessive power consumption Additionally, active management of the PoE-performance by the LT-LPITE-402GBTME ensures that in case of sudden excessive power consumption by the camera no matter what the reason, the switch also alarms by SNMP. "It includes a single delivery, universal nozzle to squirt water onto the camera’s window. This is cleaned away by the camera’s silicon wiper, which is now part of the standard build. The RVX2-WASH bracket nozzle connects to the washer pipe of any standard CCTV wash pump system." IR detection "The washer pump motor is switched on using the dedicated ‘Wash’ auxiliary output on the X2-COMBAT ALARM camera; a command from Redvision’s VMS1000 control system; and an ONVIF command from any third-party VMS.
