Matrox Video integrates SMPTE ST 2110 NIC cards within the 7thSense range of Delta media servers

Matrox Video and 7thSense Design are pleased to announce the integration of Matrox SMPTE ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards within the 7thSense range of Delta Media Servers. Using Matrox network cards, it is now possible to support multi-channel IP inputs and outputs of uncompressed video over IP. The market-leading 7thSense Proton, Nucleus, and Infinity Media Server product lines under the Delta portfolio, all support video over IP using SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022-6 standards, and are ideal for projection-mapping for prestige live events, plus full projection domes for planetaria, theme park dark rides, visitor attractions, and more. Matrox X.mio Q25 SMPTE ST 2110 network cards will support resolutions up to 4K with the 10GbE solution and up to four 4K/UHD on the 25GbE option Resolution support up to four 4K/UHD In parallel to some of the changes happening in live broadcast production, IT infrastructures are replacing traditional video connectivity such as SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort in a variety of AV applications, bringing new, creative ways to address high-channel-density projects. Matrox DSX LE4 IP NIC cards offer multiple HD channels of video I/O over 10GbE, while the next-generation Matrox X.mio Q25 SMPTE ST 2110 network cards will further enhance these density capabilities, supporting resolutions up to 4K with the 10GbE solution and up to four 4K/UHD on the 25GbE option. “Matrox is proud to be collaborating with a market leader like 7thSense Design,” says Alberto Cieri, director of sales and marketing, Matrox Video. “Matrox, as a member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), has made the commitment to support SMPTE standards for video over IP, participating actively in all joint multi-vendor interoperability testing and quality assurance events. Our NIC cards ensure data packets of video and audio are compliant with the SMPTE specification, and can be sent/received to any ST 2110 device for a seamless IP workflow.” The A/V and healthcare markets can also benefit from this reliable networking technology that can support live, high-channel-density, and high-resolution video Beneficial in A/V and healthcare industry “The 7thSense core values of innovation, quality, and flexibility are matched by Matrox’s commitment to excellence, so this is an exciting partnership for us,” says John Higgins, product manager, 7thSense. “7thSense pride ourselves on being market leaders and continuously pushing our products to the cutting edge. We recognise the many benefits of video over IP and what this can bring to our customers, so we are pleased to lead this new connectivity into our market space.” The potential for the new ST 2110 video over IP workflow goes beyond broadcast-industry use cases. The A/V and healthcare markets, for example, can also benefit from this reliable networking technology that can support live, high-channel-density, and high-resolution video. Come and see Matrox at InfoComm 2018, booth N1322, North Hall front entrance to find out more about the Matrox range of SMPTE ST 2110 NIC cards.

TITAN VISION receives unprecedented interest at UK Security EXPO Olympia

The booth represented a small section of a command and control room with operator console and controls Jay Shields Managing Director at Visual Management Systems Ltd. stated, "Although this was the first experience of the UK Security EXPO for us, I believe that it was a significant opportunity for both the TITAN VISION team and our partners; Matrox, DAS business furniture, Content Wall for the Monitors and mounting systems and 360 Vision Technology". He added, "The booth was designed to represent a small section of a command and control room with operator console and controls, a 92 inch (diagonal) TITAN WALL video display and of course all running the flagship TITAN VISION PSIM (Physical Security Information Management) software platform with live CCTV camera feeds plus the CPNI secured version TITAN SECURE". Interest in TITAN VISION Sales Director John Downie observed, "The level of interest was quite outstanding. On occasion the team of four from TITAN VISION plus our partners were inundated with interest in all aspects of the solutions on display". "Demonstrations were well attended on both days with particular interest in high level integration, cyber security and data management, clearly this type of solution will have substantial impact on securing Critical Infrastructure over the coming years". "Demonstrations were well attended on both days with particular interest in high level integration, cyber security and data management" "With visitors from across the globe representing several of our key target market areas, the event proved extremely valuable and we will be back for the 2017 event". Intersec 2017 Jay also pointed out, "We now turn our attention to Intersec 2017 in Dubai where we will be partnering with 360 Vision Technology to present TITAN VISION, TITAN WALL and our deep integration solutions to a focused and valuable international audience". "Represented by agents Adenar in the Middle East, Visual Management Systems Ltd and the TITAN VISION team look forward to presenting the latest solutions in the TITAN portfolio including the international launch of the next generation 'Detect and Verify' and 'Command and Control' systems - Watch this space for details!"

Matrox Graphics’ new H.264-based encoder technology is designed for a wide range of applications

At InfoComm 2012, Matrox will provide live demonstrations of its encoder technology Matrox Graphics Inc. introduced Matrox Maevex Series, a new H.264-based encoder/decoder technology designed for a wide range of applications including digital signage, collaborative video walls, and security & surveillance. The Matrox Maevex video distribution platform offers one-to-one unicast or one-to-many multicast extension of H.264 encoded video over standard TCP/IP networks—via standard wired (CATx) and/or wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity—to stream and display exceptional quality video at Full HD 1080p @60Hz. At InfoComm 2012 (booth #N1331), Matrox provided live demonstrations of this technology, including a Matrox Maevex Encoder distributing multiple Full HD video streams to a network of Matrox Maevex Decoders. The Maevex Decoder unit was also featured as a simple standalone digital signage appliance supporting full screen playback of locally-stored H.264 content. The Matrox Maevex preview technology being displayed at InfoComm utilises the H.264 standard to extend and distribute high-quality digital video—with support for Full HD 1080p and 1920x1200 @60Hz—and audio over standard IP infrastructures. Leveraging System-on-Chip (SoC) technology, Maevex provides high-processing performance that is optimised with dedicated H.264 encoding/decoding functionality while still providing superior processing capabilities for network management, USB enablement, and RS-232 communications. The SoC architecture also enables highly intelligent communication between connected network appliances for robust integrated hardware and software management of the Maevex devices. This allows the accompanying PowerStream software to offer remote system-operator control to conveniently schedule, monitor, update, and otherwise completely manage all hardware and content operations on the distribution network.  "With Maevex Series technology, Matrox will provide system integrators, installers, and end users with high-performance encoder/decoder solutions that simply and affordably allow for the extension of audio and video sources," said Ron Berty, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. "The H.264 encoding/decoding platform provides highly optimised video and audio transmission over IP with minimal bandwidth consumption for unprecedented price-performance value. We plan on delivering this platform through a variety of Maevex-based solutions, beginning with an encoder/decoder set and a basic media player."  Key Matrox Maevex features: Extends video and audio over standard TCP/IP (LAN) networks Employs H.264 video compression for Blu-ray quality video playback Supports video resolutions up to 1080p @60Hz and graphics resolutions up to 1920x1200 Leverages standard CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT7 cabling and standard networking infrastructure and Wi-Fi technologies Features a command & control software to remotely manage the distribution network Includes user defined fine-tuning of codec and network bit rate Utilises a solid-state, energy-efficient design for high MTBF and long product life cycles
