The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced the schedule, speaker lineup, and programme for the 2023 AcceleRISE conference, hosted by SIA’s RISE community for young leaders and those new to the security industry. AcceleRISE 2023 will take place Aug. 14-16 in Denver, Colorado. The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) has named Kerri Sutherland of Axis Communications as Chair of the FAST Board of Directors. Sutherland will lead the Board of Directors drawn from the membership of the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and the Security Industry Association (SIA), in developing and refining FAST’s strategic plan and identifying the foundation’s annual goals. Kerri Sutherland has held a human resource business partnership position at Axis Communications since 2017. She holds an MBA with a concentration in human resource management from the University of Texas A&M and is certified as a senior professional by the Society of Human Resource Management. Security technology industry She has more than a decade of successful experience in the field with a primary focus on hiring, employee development and employee engagement. Sutherland’s human resource journey began at various international tech companies, and she currently supports the Americas region at Axis by recruiting and retaining top talent while safeguarding the company’s culture. She also sits as the chair for Axis’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and serves on the board of a local nonprofit humane society. HiveWatch, a physical security software company reimagining how organisations keep their people and assets safe, has announced its latest customer wins, including an average 14-minute reduction in time to resolve an incident, from 15 minutes to 1 minute, and a significant reduction in false alarms. These results, taken directly from established HiveWatch customers, are driving increased interest and spurring greater investments in hiring, across the company’s diverse workforce. Customer wins: fewer false alarms, faster response HiveWatch customers have reported significant wins related to false alarms, time to resolution, and response times, including: One customer reported that prior to leveraging the HiveWatch Security Fusion Platform, there was a 15 minute average time to resolve an incident, from acknowledgment to closure. After implementing HiveWatch, the weekly average is 1 minute. One customer had so many incoming alarms that they determined the organisation would need six times the number of operators they currently have per day, in order to respond to every alarm. Implementing HiveWatch saved the customer budget in hiring additional operators and those on duty were able to spend less time reacting to alarms. With these results, the customer was able to free up 58% of their operators’ time to work on more proactive and customer-facing security measures.
