System Surveyor launched System Surveyor 2.0, the next generation of the industry’s favourite mobile tablet app for site surveys and system design. Based on more than seven years of use by thousands of industry professionals. The new app introduces several new features that enhance user experience on the platform’s mobile app, streamline site surveys with drag-and-drop simplicity, facilitate system lifecycle management and accelerate the proposal creation process by automating a bill of materials for decision-ready, professional proposals. Useful updates to serve the community “The best-in-class mobile site survey app just got better,” said System Surveyor Founder and CEO Chris Hugman. “We’re incredibly excited to share these updates, both with our existing community and prospective users. Since day one, the product team at System Surveyor has invested in constant innovation to ensure that our solution delivers substantial value to our customers. System Surveyor 2.0 is a clear demonstration of that commitment.” Friendly interface and secure performance System Surveyor 2.0 cuts project timelines from weeks to days or hours Now optimised for use on iOS and Android tablets, System Surveyor 2.0’s intuitive user interface and upgraded performance empowers users at every stage of the system design workflow, from preparing and annotating site surveys in the field to communicating and coordinating maintenance changes to a system over time. For integrators, System Surveyor 2.0 cuts project timelines from weeks to days or hours. For corporate and campus security professionals, the new release makes it easier to document and design systems, collaborate with partners and oversee the lifecycle of their devices. Enhanced accuracy "Before adopting System Surveyor, the length of time between conducting a site survey and delivering a proposal took two to three weeks,” said Terry Rivet, Member-Owner of Tech Systems, Inc. “With System Surveyor 2.0, we can turn around an accurate, decision-ready proposal in days, which helps us win more business. The next generation of the app is easier for a salesperson to pick up and use on the same day, thanks to the improved interface design and annotations.” Additional benefits In addition to a totally refreshed user interface, the new mobile application includes faster in-app performance, improved Google Maps resolution and auto-sync to the cloud, allowing stakeholders to effortlessly collaborate on system designs, in real-time. With expanded tools for scaling, annotations and search functions, the new app ensures integrators have everything they need to perform seamless site surveys in the field. “The new app’s updated scale, survey and photo annotations are a game changer,” said Hector Guzman, Solutions Specialist at Ednetics. “It makes it easy to build and adjust a design while I’m walking and talking, which simplifies my work on site and makes my job that much easier to serve customers.”
Exacq is a manufacturer of video management system (VMS) software and servers used for video surveillance. exacqVision VMS software is readily available on factory-installed exacqVision hybrid and IP camera servers or on commercial off-the-shelf servers. “exacqVision integrator services portal enables us to provide our customers with the proactive, turnkey support they need,” said Dave Teague, Director, EdneticsProtect™. Providing technology solutions Since 1997, Ednetics has been providing technology solutions to the educational and public markets including video surveillance and IP-based access control. As an exacqVision elite dealer, Ednetics installs exacqVision video management system (VMS) software and network video recorder (NVR) solutions. The exacqVision integrator services portal dashboard gives Ednetics a one-stop place to view all activity Ednetics has connected more than 150 recorders and nearly 9,000 cameras to the exacqVision integrator services portal. The exacqVision integrator services portal dashboard gives Ednetics a one-stop place to view all activity and system health for their customers. Video security systems The Ednetics team has been using the integrator services portal to be proactive in servicing their customers’ video security systems. Daily, two team members access the portal to quickly scan through all customer system activity. If a camera goes offline, they can instantly check to see if the camera is in warranty. This presents Ednetics with the opportunity to immediately act on getting an advanced replacement or a new camera if it is out of warranty. However, just because a camera shows connected does not mean it is functioning properly. Within the portal, Ednetics can inspect the camera’s aim and focus to make sure it is functioning properly. Ednetics plans to equip their technical support team with the portal dashboard, providing immediate access to view system events and to respond promptly when the system needs attention. Technical support employee Ednetics has also configured baseline notifications to send an email when a camera or recorder is offline Visually, the team member can see a red indicator within the integrator services portal next to the specific camera or server. Within minutes, the employee will be able to direct a tier II technical support employee to troubleshoot. Ednetics has also configured baseline notifications to send an email when a camera or recorder is offline for an extended period of time. These email alerts are sent to an Ednetics team member as well as the key customer contact. Additionally, over time Ednetics has used the integrator services portal to identify trends with cameras, systems, and firmware. If one customer is having an issue with a specific camera or firmware, then the team knows to check other customers using the same cameras or firmware before they encounter any problems. Automatic software updates exacqVision integrator services portal enables Ednetics to provide remote and on-site monitoring. Through two new types of service contracts, Ednetics will give their customers more value and assurance that their system is constantly being monitored. With the full-service contract, Ednetics uses the portal to remotely diagnose and perform on-site repairs when necessary. Ednetics has been able to provide relevant information to their sales force to generate additional sales Additionally, the service contracts include automatic software updates. The portal eliminates the need for a separate network configuration while providing an easier way to handle their managed services and generate additional revenue. exacqVision integrator services portal acts as one, centralised database to maintain all software updates. Ednetics has been able to provide relevant information to their sales force to generate additional sales. Through the portal, the sales team can quickly see MAC addresses, expiration dates and quotes, and schedule software updates. Remote software updates Benefits of exacqVision integrator services portal: Quickly address problems with a real-time dashboard Implement faster, lower-cost service Provide software update services to your users by scheduling remote software updates Receive notifications of critical video recording components No special network configuration
