Datawatch Systems upgrades access control at commercial buildings by deploying HID Mobile Access

Datawatch has deployed 3,000 HID Mobile IDs to date at major commercial properties across the United States HID Global, a provider of secure identity solutions, announced that Datawatch Systems, a long time HID Advantage Gold Partner, is transforming the tenant experience across numerous high-rise buildings since their early pilot of HID Mobile Access. Datawatch has deployed 3,000 Mobile IDs to date at major commercial properties across the United States. The solution is addressing the increasing demand for property management companies and tenants seeking better ways to interact with buildings where people live and work. “We are seeing a steadily growing number of building managers and occupants who are seeking to use their phones for access control instead of the traditional cards or keyfobs,” said Kenny Reed, Director of Business Development for Datawatch. “HID Mobile Access has not only facilitated retention of our existing clients, it has also helped expand our market share with a forward-looking offering that easily integrates with smart building technology to create a more connected environment for our clients.” Mobile access solutions Datawatch has deployed HID Mobile Access for building entry and access to internal doors, including common building areas, elevators, individual suites, and apartments at nearly 30 commercial properties in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Raleigh, NC, and other major cities. Datawatch customers using HID Mobile Access in their buildings under management include CIM Group, Jones Lang LaSalle, Fruition Partners and many more. In addition, the company has installed over 1,200 mobile-ready iCLASS SE readers in new buildings under their management, making it possible for property management companies and tenants to add mobile access at any time. "We are seeing a steadily growingnumber of building managers andoccupants who are seeking to usetheir phones for access controlinstead of the traditional cards orkeyfobs" The company manages the HID Mobile Access solution with the Datawatch DirectAccess system, which can also analyse HVAC load requirements based on when someone enters or exits a suite or common area and adjust temperature settings accordingly -- as well as turn off lights when the last person leaves in area. Access control integration In the future, Datawatch is exploring further mobile access control integration with air conditioning and heating systems, boilers, video surveillance and other building utility systems. “The numerous Datawatch deployments of HID Mobile Access illustrate how the solution is a win-win offering for partners and end customers at a time when the freedom to choose credential types, based on a user’s particular habits, is of utmost importance,” said Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control with HID Global. “Interest in mobile access adoption from building managers and tenants reflects what we are seeing across several other major industries, where the incorporation of mobile access in the near future is a given.” HID mobile access managed service edition Datawatch is also piloting the new HID Mobile Access Managed Service Edition that expands their credential management capabilities. The latest addition to HID Global’s mobile access solution, which was developed specifically to address the use cases and business model of managed services providers such as Datawatch, enables remote distribution of Mobile IDs to employees and authorized visitors for many disparate organisations, such as commercial real-estate tenants spread across buildings worldwide. This new level of centralization decreases maintenance costs and enhances remote assistance capabilities for users. HID Global and Datawatch Systems create demonstration suite to showcase mobile access control capabilities

HID Global’s mobile-enabled iCLASS SE® readers have been deployed for access to the suite HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, recently announced it has worked with Datawatch Systems®, Inc., an HID Advantage Gold Partner and industry leading access control and security systems integrator, to create a demonstration suite at 555 12th Street N.W, in downtown Washington D.C, where prospective tenants can preview the property’s mobile access control capabilities that are integrated with other advanced technology in the multi-tenant building. Visitors are provided with a Samsung Galaxy S®4 or Apple® iPhone® 5C smartphone that can be used to enter and exit the suite and activate other systems inside the building. “We are excited about this project with Datawatch, whose client can now show prospective tenants, first-hand, the value of combining security and convenience at the door with our award-winning HID Mobile Access® solution that is powered by Seos®,” said Debra Spitler, vice president, Strategic Alliances with HID Global. “This capability is quickly becoming a competitive advantage for property owners and managers who want to offer the best possible tenant experience leveraging mobile phones and other smart devices.” Datawatch’s DirectAccess® system is used to manage the mobile access control solution in its client’s demonstration suite. HID Global’s mobile-enabled iCLASS SE® readers have been deployed for access to the suite, which can be entered using a Mobile ID from HID Global that has been provisioned to one of two demonstration smartphones, a Samsung Galaxy S4 or an Apple iPhone 5C, each utilising Bluetooth Smart for mobile access. Visitors can either tap their device to a reader at the door, or rotate it as they approach from a distance. The initial Mobile ID authentication at the door also activates the HVAC system and lights. The DirectAccess system analyses load requirements with each subsequent entry and exit using HID Global’s Mobile IDs, and adjusts accordingly. Departure of the last person triggers the controls to turn off the lights. “We are pleased to partner with HID Global in order to offer this cutting-edge technology to our clients,” said Billy Peel, Executive Vice President of Datawatch Systems. For over 30 years, the products and services Datawatch markets have been driven by client requirements. “Anticipating what our clients are looking for is what led us to offer this secure mobile access control solution,” said Jonathan Peel, Regional Sales Manager of Datawatch. “It offers many user benefits and is interoperable with the more than one million credentials we have already issued on access cards, key fobs and other ID solutions.” Datawatch had additional reasons for selecting HID Mobile Access for its client’s demonstration suite, including the fact that it operates with the most commonly used iOS® and Android™ devices, and is very flexible. “Even during a call, the mobile device can be used to open a door,” said Para Weerasuriya, Director, Technology Services of Datawatch. “HID Global’s solution works seamlessly with our DirectAccess system, and can be configured to use both Mobile IDs and existing proximity, iCLASS® and other smart card credentials.”
