Wavestore, the British developer of innovative open-platform and highly secure Linux-based Video Management Software (VMS), has launched v6.12, as part of an ongoing programme to introduce ease of setup features alongside other important new innovations that deliver true value to users.

Wavestore’s ongoing commitment to ensuring system set-up can achieved as quickly as possible while on site, sees v6.12 provide system integrators with the ability to apply even more camera settings directly via Wavestore’s GUI, without having to enter individual camera set-up screens.

The metadata captured can also be intelligently searched with associated video displayed or used to generate events in real time

Point of Sale (PoS) metadata

In addition, with the help of an easy on the eye summary screen and with just a simple click of a button, users can now see the status of all cameras installed across their entire site in the form of thumbnails, to quickly identify camera positioning or potential issues, such as video loss.

Wavestore v6.12 sees the introduction of enhanced PoS integration which provides users with the choice of overlaying text captured from devices directly onto a video source or displaying it in a separate window. This flexibility applies to text from a variety of sources, including till systems, ATM, and cash counting equipment. The metadata captured can also be intelligently searched with associated video displayed or used to generate events in real time.

Additional new features include:

  • Map improvements: Maps are now stored on the Wavestore NVR/HVR, making them centrally available to WaveView client software users with the relevant permissions
  • Status Icons: Improved device status icons have also been introduced to provide better situational awareness across a site when using maps
  • Multicast: V6.12 introduces multicast compatibility
  • Tatille Vega: Wavestore is now integrated with Tatille Vega ANPR cameras

In response to feedback received directly from customers, we have an active programme for improving ease of setup and use in each of our software update releases,” said Julian Inman, Head of Product Management for Wavestore.

Our aim is to ensure we can provide the flexibility that is so important when putting together a fully integrated solution to meet customer requirements, while at the same time saving system integrators time on site by making setup as simple and straightforward as possible”.
