Vigitron inc, the leading manufacturer of network products designed for security applications, announces the next in their educational series “Understanding Fibre Optics”.

The webinar will be held on March 10, 2022, at 9 AM Pacific Time. The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Why Use Fibre Optics
  • Defining Fibre Optics and how it works
  • Specifying Fibre Optics for Existing Applications
  • Specifying Fibre Optics for New Applications
  • Major Fibre Optics considerations
  • Testing Fibre Optics connections -
  • Five steps for confirming Fibre Optics connections

Increasing port bandwidth

The need for increased bandwidth results in increasing transmission from 1G to 10G

Cameras, in particular multi-sensor, thermal, 4K, and other high Megapixel cameras, the port bandwidth requirement is increasing from 100Mbps to 1000Mbps (1G).

This results in challenges to the ability to maintain bandwidth and packets size over both standard and extended distances. In addition, the need for increased bandwidth results in increasing backbone transmission from 1G to 10G which the best solution is Fibre Optics.

Defining problems and solutions

Since the introduction of our IP products over 13 years ago, Vigitron has led in education on the unique considerations of network design”, stated Neil Heller, Vigitron’s Vice President of Business Development.

Our webinars focus on education, not products; defining problems and solutions to enable attendees to make the best choices.”
