Vicon Industries, Inc., designer and manufacturer of video surveillance, access control software and hardware and cameras, introduced its new SN688D-WIR PTZ dome camera, taking large area monitoring to the next level with a camera that is truly all-seeing. With 4K resolution (Ultra HD), this PTZ offers sharp, highly-detailed image quality video, with 4X the detail of 1080p, delivering excellent clarity. The high-speed pan/tilt and powerful zoom functions, along with 360° rotation, enable the camera to quickly move and focus on different objects in the scene.

With 30X optical zoom one can capture images at a long distance. These images are incredibly crisp, with sharp definitive edges that distinctly outline every object and feature, allowing users to take advantage of the full display potential of current 4K performance and providing incredible detail without pixelation when zooming into recorded video for investigative purposes.

Indoor and outdoor video surveillance

In order to adapt to constantly changing outdoor lighting conditions, the SN688D-WIR features an autoiris lens that maintains proper light levels to provide the best video quality under diverse and changing lighting conditions. The true day/night camera includes a removable IR cut filter for superior image quality in all lighting conditions. This camera leverages the latest in camera technology, including synchronised IR LEDs that automatically adjust intensity with the optical zoom of the lens, future-proofing one’s investment.

The SN688D PTZ is designed for both indoor and outdoor installations, in low light and challenging environmental conditions, making it ideal for locations that require large area coverage, including campuses, airports, malls and hospitals.

Our 4K fixed dome and bullet models have been a popular addition to our extensive camera line, so we’re thrilled to incorporate 4K resolution into this powerful and feature-rich PTZ dome,” said Bret McGowan, Senior V.P., Sales and Marketing.
