Vicon Industries, Inc., designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware and components introduced its new V988 line of 4K cameras, which deliver the sharp, highly detailed image quality of Ultra HD video. Available in dome and bullet style cameras, these new cameras feature a 3.6-11 mm motorised varifocal lens and IR illuminators, making them appropriate for use in a wide range of applications and lighting conditions.

Video captured by these cameras allows users to take advantage of the full display potential of today’s 4K monitors and provides incredible detail without pixilation when zooming into recorded video for investigative purposes. he V988 bullet and dome models both include a wide range of high-performance features, including true wide dynamic range, quad streaming, video content analysis to identify tampering, intrusion, motion detection and defog, audio and alarm input/output, and IP66/IK10 rated enclosures that provide vandal and water resistance. H.265 compression drastically reduces file sizes and conserves network bandwidth. Power over Ethernet eliminates the need for power cables, simplifying installation and reducing associated labor costs.
