Teams entering are encouraged to think about what they mean to the local community
UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, will sponsor a full kit for one lucky youth football team

UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, provider of door opening solutions, has launched a competition to support youth football teams.

To celebrate Euro 2016, UNION has launched a social media competition to find a youth football team that supports and is valued by, its local community.

Football kit competition

A lucky youth football team will receive a full kit for the 2016/17 season sponsored by UNION. Launched on the UNION Facebook Page, all entrants will be required to submit up to 100 words to explain why their team deserves a new kit in time for the start of the football season.

Teams entering are encouraged to think about what they mean to the local community, if they have a history worth sharing, or simply if they have a special story to share around their team, as a whole or individual members of the team.

Sporting benefits

Eryl Jones, Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, said: “Whilst we’ll all be flying the flag for our home nations in the Euros, it’s important to remember grass roots football and support participation at every level of the sport. We want to reward teams that offer something to their local community and encourage more youth teams to get involved in sport, which can offer so many benefits outside of health and fitness.”

We’re encouraging all our customers and partners to get involved, whether that’s promoting it to their customers or nominating a team themselves.”

Entry to the competition is via the UNION Facebook page where the T&Cs can be found, and the competition will run throughout the Euros, finishing on 5th July at 12pm.
