The PC & Wireless Shop addressed the challenge of protecting its space while upgrading to new IP cameras
Each Illustra camera comes pre-installed with exacqVision Edge video management system (VMS) software

Tyco Security Products has announced that The PC & Wireless Shop in Canandaigua, NY, has selected an array of Illustra Edge high-definition 1080p IP cameras to provide in-store surveillance capabilities.

Remote surveillance via smartphone

By strategically installing Illustra Edge cameras around the 5,000-square-foot building, The PC & Wireless Shop addressed the challenge of protecting its space while upgrading to new IP cameras that produced much higher quality video and expanded their overall coverage.

Each Illustra camera comes pre-installed with exacqVision Edge video management system (VMS) software for easy, out-of-the-box deployment. The Illustra Edge cameras act as their own servers, recording video to an SD card within the camera. Tyco Security Products’ edge recording solution saves money, bandwidth and space that had previously been allocated to on-site, standalone servers. The PC & Wireless Shop operations manager can access live and recorded video via the free web service or for remote surveillance via smartphone on the Exacq Mobile app.

“The installation and set up of the Illustra Edge cameras was very intuitive,” said Operations Manager Ben Carpenter, who added Illustra Edge fisheye cameras with pan-tilt-zoom action along with mini domes and mini bullet cameras to cover everything from the front of the building to the sales floor and backroom repair area.

In business since 2006, The PC & Wireless Shop is a family-owned business in Canandaigua, NY, that is operated by Dean Carpenter and his sons Jeff, Kevin and Ben. The store specialises in selling and servicing cellular phones, custom-built PCs and laptops, IP security cameras and PBX systems.
