Award-winning manufacturer, Gallagher Security, is laying the foundation for growth by announcing the appointments of Tom Harding as Head of Digital and Hugo Parcell as Head of Brand and Creative.

Tom Harding joins the team as Head of Digital with an ambitious mission to develop new digital experiences for Gallagher’s customers, partners, and prospects. Before joining Gallagher, Tom served as co-founder and CEO of Mish Guru where he led market activities and grew the New York-based sales and marketing teams. Having worked alongside clients such as McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Lululemon, and Spotify, Tom brings a deep understanding of customer-centricity to the role and is motivated to implement innovative ways to connect Gallagher with its growing customer base.

The Gallagher story

Gallagher has really ambitious goals for growth, and I think it's clear to everyone that the foundations to enable this are already in place,” Tom says. “It’s just a matter of putting those puzzle pieces together and communicating that vision with our customers so we can deliver more value and drive expansion in the process. It’s a huge opportunity, and it’s what I’m most excited about in starting this new role.”

Hugo Parcell, who joins the team as Head of Brand and Creative, agrees with Tom and brings an equally enthusiastic outlook to his new role. “The Gallagher story is such an inspiring one,” he elaborates. “To be a family-owned business with local roots in New Zealand and be a global player with big ambitions at the same time is a unique position to be in, and it’s a big part of what attracted me to the role.”

Prior roles of Hugo

Hugo began his career at JWT promotion agent in London managing trade drives for Mazda

Hugo began his career at JWT advertising agency in London managing marketing campaigns for Mazda, Berocca, and InterContinental Hotels Group. Following a move to New Zealand, he continued his advertising career working on accounts including Spark, Optus, Red Bull, Partners Life, and more.

Most recently, Hugo served as Marketing Director at Power Farming, demonstrating a wide range of brand experience across industries, an asset he believes will serve him well at Gallagher. “We might be in the security business, but our solutions empower a variety of verticals and I’m excited to bring that kind of customer perspective to our team,” he says.

Gallagher’s innovation evolution

Chief Marketing Officer, Merv Williams, sees Tom and Hugo as strategic appointments that will progress Gallagher’s innovation evolution. “Our solutions are world-class, our research and development teams are world-class, and we’re prepared to show the world that our marketing is in the same league,” he says. “Tom and Hugo are going to help us shape Gallagher's global narrative and I’m super excited to count their successes along the way.”

Both Tom and Hugo are based in Hamilton, New Zealand at Gallagher Security’s global headquarters. When they’re not building brands and digital experiences, both can be found outdoors with their families enjoying New Zealand’s many beaches and rolling landscapes.
