UK company Telemetricor have released their new product, TelemetriCop, for general sale. The company builds innovative sensors and software to extract live data from remote and hostile environments, where wired power and communications are unavailable.
TelemetriCop is a unique security product, designed as a loss prevention system for remote assets, compounds, and rural areas. The system itself is a motion-activated, battery-powered, IR enabled, still image sentry system, communicating over a self-forming mesh network to ensure that there are no running costs. Images are relayed to a central receiver station, which can be connected to the internet via broadband/3g, or directly to the user's phone via short range wireless network. Images are automatically filtered to remove false triggers, and to ensure that real alarms are passed through the filter as an alert, immediately, to the operator's smart phone. Systems can be installed by untrained operators in minutes and with no prior expertise.
Proactive alert system
Unlike many conventional CCTV systems, TelemetriCop is proactive, rather than reactive. It is not dependant on mains power sources or any cabling (or expensive installation), and has none of the bandwidth or data costs associated with other live alert systems. TelemetriCop has been specifically designed to deliver filtered, actionable alerts, immediately, to end-users – thus allowing them to take action to prevent criminal or unwanted activity before it becomes a problem.
Solar and batter power
Additional features allow cameras to be turned off for user-defined periods of the day, and also allow the user to take pictures remotely, if they suspect that activity is taking place beyond the trigger range of the motion sensor. Solar and battery powered (typically 2-3 months’ battery life) versions are available.
Remote area security market
The system has been developed with the police, and following on from police-backed trials there has already been a successful prosecution, and significant numbers of potential criminals have been intercepted before they've been able to reach their intended targets. The system has been on pre-release with selected customers since September, both within the UK and abroad. With a healthy waiting list already, TelemetriCop looks set to make a significant impression on the remote area security market in 2017.
