Tamron Co., Ltd., (President & CEO Morio Ono), an integrated optics manufacturer and leader in the security/surveillance equipment industry, announces the release of an Ultra-Compact Camera Module with an industry-first Optical Vibration-Compensation Feature (Model: MP1010M-VC).

Today's security market employs various types of small-size cameras. High-performance compact-and-lightweight cameras have gained growing demand in connection with the ongoing miniaturisation of peripheral components for various types of surveillance cameras including box and dome types.

Tamron, employing the industry-leading imaging technologies accredited in the security market and in-house manufacturing technologies for lenses of superb optical performance, now announces the release of an Ultra-Compact Camera Module with an industry-first Optical Vibration-Compensation Feature which assures high-quality image stabilisation when images are captured in a vibrating environment.  The realised physical size and weight of the compact module are not only optimum for security and surveillance applications but also advantageous for an extensive range of customisation, including such applications as drones.

Tamron, as an integrated optics manufacturer, aggressively pursues the highest level of performance and utility, exploring new market frontiers.

Product highlights

1. Camera module with industry-first optical vibration-compensation

Images get blurred when captured under vibration.  The problem becomes pronounced when images are captured at the telephoto-end.  Compensation of blurring by means of post-processing software is accompanied by degradation in image quality; the new camera module, Model: MP1010M-VC, eliminates image blurring by means of Tamron's proprietary optical vibration-compensation, and assures crisp and clear images at all scenes.

2. Miniature and lightweight camera module

With an optical vibration-compensation feature integrated, the module only measures a total length of 58.4mm and weighs approx. 77g, which enables re-use of existing housings or effective saving of installation space.

3. Compatibility with full HD

The video output is compatible with the industry-standard 1920 x 1080 Full HD.  The module provides high-resolution, high-quality images optimum for security/surveillance as well as myriad of other applications.

4. Excellent optical performance

Tamron has aggressively introduced arrays of revolutionary products for interchangeable camera lenses, video camera lenses, security/surveillance camera lenses, and other industry applications. Tamron's proprietary optical design and advanced low-reflection coating technology, in combination with extensive engineering knowledge and in-house manufacturing know-hows, ensures superb image contrast without colour blurs.
