Tamron announces the market launch of a new camera module, Model MP3010M-EV, an upgraded model of Tamron’s successful compact and lightweight Models MP1010 and MP1110 camera modules. The new MP3010M-EV camera module model will be available on August 29, 2022.

In January 2016, Tamron released a series of multi-purpose zoom-camera modules, Models MP1010 and MP1110. The compact and lightweight advantages of these modules were highly valued for use in a variety of industry applications including inspection and surveillance by drones.

Limited installation space

Due to the rapid progress in system’s automation and digitalisation, the needs and requirements of camera modules are diversifying to support new imaging applications such as quality-assurance, safety-inspection, and task-assistance. Tamron’s released modules have received outstanding recognition for the imaging quality achieved by the performance of an optical zoom lens and in the compact dimension of the modules that fit in a limited installation space.

To meet the growing needs of the market, Tamron now releases an enhanced module, Model MP3010M-EV, that accommodates a wider array of applications with improvement in imaging sensitivity, addition of a Day/Night feature, and attachment of an HDMI interface, in addition to the advantages of the compact and lightweight body and the 10x optical zoom lens featured in the previous models.

Excellent user utility

Adoption of an improved image sensor and the addition of a Day/Night feature expands the ability to monitor many more types of video scenes. An HDMI video interface is included in addition to the analogue SD output and the LVDS interfaces, which are compatible with the previous models, to enhance the system utility and performance of the module.

Tamron, as the manufacturer of optics for diverse applications, pursues distinguished fidelity in all image details and excellent user utility, and expands the boundaries of imaging applications and markets.

Key features of the MP1010/MP1110 Series

Full Upgrading Compatibility with the Previous Models of the MP1010/MP1110 Series:

  • Module size is effectively identical with the previous models
  • Mounting hole size and locations are identical with the previous models
  • Module is equipped with a compact 10x optical zoom lens
  • Module supports the LVDS video (30-pin connector: pin assignments are identical with the previous models)
  • Module supports camera control by VISCA1

Improved Performance and Utility for a Wide Range of New Applications:

  • Outstanding improvement in sensitivity through the adoption of a new state-of-the-art high-sensitivity image sensor
  • Required minimum illumination of 0.1 lx (1/30 sec, F/1.8, 50% Color, typical) is achieved
  • A new day/night feature is added to enhance the nighttime operation in indoor/outdoor scenes
  • Equipped with a state-of-the-art EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) Compensating horizontal and vertical vibration, and rotation
  • Equipped with a Multi-Interface to support various video outputs:
  • A new HDMI Type D (Micro HDMI) connecter provides video output via HDMI2 in addition to the FULL-HD digital video and the LVDS SD (NTSC/PAL) analogue video outputs equipped in the previous models.
