SMi announces The Department of National Defence Canada as part of the speaker line-up for Global MilSatCom 2016 taking place 8th-10th November in London.
Lieutenant Colonel Abde Bellahnid, Directorate of Joint Capability, SATCOMS & SAR Requirements, Department of National Defence Canada, is a part of SMi Groups expert speaker line-up at Global MilSatCom 2016.
The Canadian military wants to build a new constellation that would provide 24-hour satellite communications for the Arctic region as early as 2023. Canada is also considering buying into an existing communications constellations as part of a second project known as the Tactical Narrowband SATCOM program.
Presentation highlights
Lieutenant Colonel Abde Bellahnid will be giving a Keynote Address on Day Three of the conference, speaking on How Tactical Narrowband Satellite Communications (TNS) Project Will Satisfy Next-Generation SatCom Requirements. Presentation highlights include:
- An outline of the TNS Project roadmap and key timelines to ensure successful final delivery in 2023;
- Key capabilities of the TNS Project and how this satisfies long-term requirements;
- Overcoming the main challenges to ensure the successful operational efficiency of the TNS Project.
Lieutenant Colonel Abde Bellahnid will also be participating in a panel discussion on day three about Ensuring Effective Communication Capabilities in the Arctic and Harsh Environments. This panel discussion will cover the unique challenges that militaries face when communicating in the Arctic and how these are best overcome.
