A new, best-in-class 2MP Video Intercom from IDIS - the vandal-resistant and waterproof DC-I6212WRX - is the first NEMA 4X, IK10, and IP66-rated product of its kind offered by any video surveillance vendor.

The DC-I6212WRX, from South Korea’s largest in-country video surveillance manufacturer, gives systems integrators and their customers a host of performance benefits, including advanced user functions and unmatched durability in harsh environmental conditions.

IDIS’s choice of VMS

Housed in a toughened casing with a choice of flush and surface mount options, the DC-I6212WRX can withstand extreme temperatures from −22F degrees to 133F degrees and humidity up to 90%. With intelligent trigger events including active tampering, motion detection, and trip zones, the intercom features a robust built-in speaker to protect against criminals’ intent on degrading security.

DC-I6212WRX adds a useful and cheap access device to IDIS’s rising range of NDAA-compliant products

Easy to integrate with IDIS’s choice of VMS, including the totally cost- and licence-free IDIS Centre, as well as third-party systems, including access control systems and electromagnetic door locks, the DC-I6212WRX adds a practical and affordable access device to IDIS’s growing range of NDAA compliant products

Audit trails and effective investigations

Access control and visitor management are further boosted with two-way VoIP (SIP) audio, enhanced by echo cancelling and noise reduction. In addition, superior image quality and simultaneous two-way audio and video recording, thanks to forensic voice and video evidence, ensure complete audit trails and effective investigations.

The DC-I6212WRX provides a clear foreground focus of who is calling and sharp image capture of the scene behind and around them, even in challenging lighting conditions. It features superior 2MP (1920x1080) image capture with a 180-degree fisheye view, true 120dB wide dynamic range (WDR) and an IR LED night-time range of 16 feet. Its push button placement also ensures easy use for adults of average height, children, and wheelchair users.

End-to-end IDIS video system

Benefits include replying to calls and fitting video and audio from the intercom while on the move

The DC-I16212WRX also gives end-users an impressive menu of practical user features when installed as part of an end-to-end IDIS video system, with a choice of either the license-and-cost-free IDIS Centre or the enterprise-class IDIS Solution Suite VMS. Benefits include answering calls and checking video and audio from the intercom while on the move, using the IDIS Mobile Plus app and the IDIS Smart Failover, which protects against loss of recorded data due to network drop-out or instability.

Standard video intercom devices are vulnerable to today’s increasingly harsh environmental conditions, including heavy rain, sub-zero temperatures, heatwaves, wildfires, and extreme events causing high pollution and dust levels,” says Andrew Myung, President, IDIS America. “IDIS’s first-of-a-kind video intercom tackles these problems head-on, reassuring users of a long and reliable service life, regardless of extreme weather.”

New IDIS video intercom

The new IDIS video intercom offers smarter and more flexible security at front desks without the clutter of additional equipment. Outdoor-ready, the DC-16212WRX is an ideal option for internal entrances in challenging industrial facilities.

It can be used standalone or spread across larger sites with multiple buildings, enhancing existing video surveillance solutions and improving overall security and staff safety.
