Pluralsight, Inc., the enterprise technology skills platform, announces that Nature's Sunshine Products, Inc., a natural health and wellness company engaged in the manufacture and direct selling of nutritional and personal care products, is using Pluralsight to quickly and efficiently develop the latest technology skills needed to move its infrastructure from on-premises to Microsoft Azure.
Nature’s Sunshine markets and distributes nutritional and personal care products through a global direct sales force of more than 500,000 active independent managers, distributors, and customers in more than 40 countries.
Better support customers
The company manufactures most of its products through its own state-of-the-art facilities to ensure its products continue to set the standard for the highest quality, safety, and efficacy on the market. Recognising the need to maximise its use of technology to better support customers and increase revenue, Nature’s Sunshine turned to Pluralsight to develop the technology skills that would enable the company to meet its goals.
With Pluralsight, we are successfully developing the skills we need to move to the cloud"
“Technologies are evolving quickly, and we feel the pressure to keep up. We recently started using microservices from Microsoft Azure as a new way to develop and modernise our systems,” said Michel Danon, Chief Information Officer at Nature’s Sunshine. “With Pluralsight, we are successfully developing the skills we need to move to the cloud while increasing both the velocity and quality of our code.” Using the skills gained on Pluralsight, Nature’s Sunshine is developing microservices and transferring its infrastructure from on-prem to Azure cloud.”
New payment service
The company identified six distinct milestones for its cloud transformation. With Pluralsight, Nature’s Sunshine has already completed one-third of its milestones and is confident it will reach the other targets in the near future. The company’s developers, most of whom started as mainframe developers, have now reskilled using Pluralsight to become Azure cloud developers. As part of its cloud transformation, Nature’s Sunshine is now running large-scale Cosmos databases on Azure and has successfully implemented a new payment service.
“Pluralsight gives us a lot of security in rolling out new technologies like our new payment service,” says Matt Tipping, Lead Full Stack Developer and Scrum Master for Synergy Worldwide Application Development. “The payment service was built in something new, but everybody was able to come up to speed on the new technology really quickly and know exactly what it was doing, so we didn’t have to fear that it was going to break.”
