ONVIF standardisation activities

ONVIF spokesperson Tim Shen of Dahua Technology will be speaking on ‘ONVIF: An Evolving Standard’ on April 13, 2017. The presentation will focus on the benefits provided by ONVIF in security systems with multiple brands, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and in smart city municipal security systems. The presentation will also include an overview of the history of ONVIF, its evolution as an organisation and current and upcoming profiles, as well as opportunities for involvement with ONVIF standardisation activities.

“The ONVIF value proposition of interoperability between IP-based physical security products is a strong one that benefits all segments of the global security industry,” said Per Björkdahl, ONVIF Steering Committee Chair. “As China’s market share in physical security continues to grow, it is critical for ONVIF to advocate and impress the vital role that ONVIF and other standards can play in the physical security community.”
