Continuing its goal of delivering open platform system solutions that provide the highest performance and value to its customers, OnSSI announces that its Ocularis 5 Video Management Software (VMS) now fully integrates with the latest IQeye megapixel cameras from Vicon Industries.

Enhanced surveillance solution

“The combination of Vicon’s leading IQeye cameras and Ocularis 5 provides users with an enhanced surveillance solution that delivers comprehensive intelligence and an improved user experience,” said Ken LaMarca, VP of Sales and Marketing, OnSSI. “This latest integration further demonstrates the power of OnSSI’s Ocularis 5 VMS platform to accommodate the leading surveillance products and technologies that users want.”

Like OnSSI, Vicon is committed to the open platform model. Vicon recently updated the drivers of its cameras to ensure full integration between Ocularis and its wide range of IQeye cameras, including IQeye Alliance-mx dome cameras, IQeye Alliance-mini dome cameras, IQeye Sentinel Series cameras, IQeye R5 bullet cameras and IQeye 7 Series cameras.

“As Vicon continues to develop and deliver open platform solutions, we are very pleased to offer enhanced IQeye cameras that seamlessly integrate with OnSSI's new and standards-based Ocularis 5 VMS,” said Eric Fullerton, CEO, Vicon Industries. “OnSSI has supported open platform solutions for years, and is an important player in our team-based ecosystem.”

Suitable for various applications

Ocularis 5 is based on a new recorder that accommodates a significantly higher density of cameras per recorder while maximising HDD storage without the need for user configuration. It features automatic load balancing for managing recordings across system servers and significantly improves network security. Ocularis 5 also allows for multiple recorders to be combined under the same Base (including legacy Ocularis 4.X recorders) with centralised user and event management.

Vicon’s IQeye cameras are designed to provide superior image quality, stability and reliability in the harshest environments. With a comprehensive line of features and applications, the company offers a camera solution that will meet and exceed the demands of any installation. From high-definition to standard-definition IP display resolutions, Vicon’s range of open network cameras fit any size, any budget and any environment.
