NSSLGlobal, a pioneering independent full-service project engineering, satcom and systems integrator, announces a partnership with the Royal Navy Rugby League (RNRL).

The collaboration supports the growth of its Seniors, Women’s and Academy squads, reinforcing NSSLGlobal’s commitment to the Armed Forces community.

RNRL benefits

The RNRL benefits from a funding injection over the course of three years

The RNRL benefits from a funding injection over the course of three years, which will primarily be invested in subsidising the playing schedule, playing kits and medical support.

With the league priding itself on ensuring parity across each of its teams, the funds will also be used to subsidise a warm weather training camp for the women’s team this year.

NSSLGlobal on board

We’re incredibly proud of our commitment to inclusivity across our three highly successful Rugby League teams, and sponsorship from supportive organisations is essential to ensure we can continue to fund them effectively."

"It’s great to have NSSLGlobal on board as a key part of our team,” says Commander Mathew Gee Royal Navy, Vice Chairman RNRL.

RNRL’s long-term ambition

The investment by NSSLGlobal will also help contribute to RNRL’s long-term ambition

We have a 45-year track record of work with the MOD, and a 42-year partnership specifically with the Royal Navy. It’s fantastic for that to extend further with sponsorship of the RNRL, which is doing so much for increasing participation in sport among the Armed Forces,” says Adam Carter, Programme Director, NSSLGlobal.

The investment by NSSLGlobal will also help contribute to RNRL’s long-term ambition to play competitive Rugby League at a level surpassing the standard of the Army and Royal Air Force, across both male and female teams.

Tremendous success over the last few years

The RNRL was originally established in 1997, and in total there are over seventy male and over twenty-five female players registered with the Rugby Football League playing the sport in the Royal Navy.

The teams have achieved tremendous success over the last few years, with the Seniors reaching the fourth round of the Challenge Cup in 2022 and winning the Inter Service Championships in 2022, 2023 and the Academy securing a hat trick of Inter Services titles in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
