The organisers of Milipol Qatar, the international event for homeland security and civil defence, have announced force majeure has prompted the postponement of the event for six months to March 2021.

Over recent weeks and months, they have been in constant discussions with key industry authorities and partners to stay abreast of the challenges in the face of disruption due to COVID-19. In the light of the latest developments of the health situation worldwide and especially in Qatar, as announced by Qatar authorities, they are forced to postpone Milipol Qatar 2020.

Initially planned in October 2020, Milipol Qatar has been rescheduled in Doha, Qatar from March 15 -17 2021.

Event postponed

The force majeure has been brought about by continuing global efforts to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic which is impacting international travel with varying restrictions being imposed on a regular basis by individual governments,” explained Préfet Yann Jounot CEO of Civipol - the technical implementer of the French ministry of the Interior – and President of Milipol events.

Organisers are confident that the postponement will ensure a well-attended event when the show opens at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from March 15 to 17, 2021.

Exhibitors and visitors online registration for the event remain fully open. Milipol Qatar team will put the coming months to good use to prepare an even more inspiring and efficient Milipol Qatar 2021 for the 200+ exhibitors and 8,000+ visitors expected.

Middle East security market

Milipol Qatar, an event, is under the patronage of His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. It is organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior in partnership with the Paris-based international event organiser Comexposium acting on behalf of the GIE Milipol headed by Civipol, the technical implementer of the French ministry of the Interior.

Milipol Qatar 2021 is shaping up to be a window into a Middle East security market which is undergoing rapid transformation driven by technological advancements and by increased homeland health and safety requirements in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
