Global MSC Security announces that it has chosen The Lily Foundation as its charity for the Global MSC Security Conference and Exhibition 2019, which takes place on 11th and 12th November in Bristol and this year focuses on the ethical use of surveillance.

Conference programme

Founded in 2008, by Liz Curtis in memory of her daughter Lily, who died from mitochondrial disease at eight months old, The Lily Foundation is a national charity committed to finding a cure through funding research, as well as raising awareness and supporting more than 300 families.

Global MSC Security was introduced to The Lily Foundation by Sarah Moore, a mother from Bath who lost two children (Harriet and Kimberley) to mitochondrial disease. Managing Director of Global MSC Security, Derek Maltby says: “When we heard Sarah’s story and the work of The Lily Foundation we instantly wanted to support it.” He adds: “Each year we choose a charity to benefit from the generosity of security practitioners who join us at our gala dinner and I can think of no worthier cause than The Lily Foundation to support this year.”

Double CPD points

Previous beneficiaries from the Global MSC Security gala include the Royal British Legion, Bristol Children’s Hospital’s Grand Appeal. Children’s Hospice South West, the Above and Beyond Charity and Movember.

The gala charity dinner will take place on Monday 11th November at the Bristol Hotel, Bristol. The doors to the 21th annual Global MSC Security Conference and Exhibition will open on 11th for an exhibition preview with the conference taking place on 12th November. The event is free-to-attend for all delegates and they will receive double CPD points from the Security Institute for attending the conference programme.
