G4S Secure Solutions UK (SSUK) has won a multi-million pound UK government contract to provide Front of House and Security Services at several Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) buildings in London and the South East, including its London Headquarters at King Charles Street.

The Crown Commercial Services (CCS) awarded G4S SSUK the two-year contract, which will start on 1 June 2023.

Contract benefits

Eddie Hirst, Business Development Director Major Projects for G4S SSUK, said, “This is a significant win for G4S in the UK and an amazing opportunity for us to work on behalf of one of the great offices of state. As part of this contract, we will be able to utilise several specialisms as and when the FCDO requires our assistance.”

The staff working for the incumbent contract holder will all be offered the opportunity to TUPE to G4S SSUK and any new recruits will, like the current staff, be required to be Security Check (SC) cleared.

Professional development opportunities

Those who do TUPE to G4S SSUK will benefit from access to professional development opportunities during their working hours, including webinars, training courses, and knowledge-sharing sessions for industry leaders via the G4S Academy.

Eddie Hannah, the FCDO’s Head of Estate Operations and Chief Engineer, said, "We are glad to be partnering with G4S for this new contract, and look forward to a productive working relationship."
