Technology supplied by eyevis UK has helped protect customers and prevent crime during five years of continuous operation in the security control room at a leading national retailer’s flagship Oxford Street store.

eyevis UK provides video display and audio visual solutions to a range of clients and has supplied CCTV control rooms for power stations, local authorities, banks, road traffic monitoring, emergency services, blue chip retailers and Government buildings.

Video wall for retail stores

Its work with the prestigious retailer was part of a project with Orion Security Solutions, which designs, installs and maintains integrated security systems. The name of the store cannot be revealed because of its policy of not publicising details of its security operation. eyevis UK installed a video wall comprising 5x2 42-inch narrow bezel LCD displays, a Netpix 4800 video wall controller and eycon software.

eyevis UK managing director Steve Murphy said: “We are delighted that our installation at the store on Oxford Street has been running 24/7 and trouble free for five years. eyevis technology is chosen because of its reliability and because it is easy to both use and maintain. This is key for such an important control centre, which is reliant on 24/7 operation.”

24/7 video security

The Netpix 4800 is a network based graphic controller for the management of video wall systems, single displays or projectors. The controller creates a big joined desktop for network-applications, video and graphic sources.

Eyecon is a universal and complete software solution for the control of video wall systems including all connected sources, distribution of information and collaboration in-between different control rooms or presentation areas. The system is based on a very simple operating concept that reduces response times and hence makes the operation of large display systems even more effective and efficient.
