Worcestershire-based security solutions company Ecl-ips is pleased to announce that after 14 years with the business Stephen Gilbert, generally known as Steve by the team, has been promoted to a new role of Technical Manager having previously been Senior Engineer.

Technical Manager

The creation of the Technical Manager post reflects the recent expansion of Ecl-ips, which is located in Stoke Prior near Bromsgrove, as it develops more integrated security and monitoring solutions.

This means its advanced intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, and server room monitoring offerings are enhanced with other innovative products such as security fog generators and smart sensors. 

Responsibilities

Steve will be focusing on the design, delivery, and approval of works for the installations

Steve will continue to work within the Ecl-ips operations team. He will be providing support to Aaron Kernaghan, Managing Director, and Darren Roe, Operations Director, on current and upcoming projects. Steve will be focusing on the design, delivery, and approval of works for the installations.

Darren said, “Having been with Ecl-ips for 14 years, we are so pleased that he has continued to progress during this time. We are recognising Steve’s knowledge, loyalty to the company, and his amazing appetite to learn and provide our customer base with the best solution for their needs."

Darren adds, “Steve has a great technical brain and a vast knowledge of the systems that we provide to our customers, he will also be testing new and current products that best suit our portfolio. His role will be vital to the continual growth of Ecl-ips.”

Steve enjoys testing new products and software to ensure they will meet the needs of Ecl-ips customers, while his experience with all the systems means he can quickly get on top of upgrades and changes. He is also keen to learn and train on the job, including adding intruder alarm systems to his wealth of knowledge in recent years.

Steve, who started out working in kitchens, joined Ecl-ips after a few years to pursue a technical-focused career.  He has then worked his way up through the ranks.

Steve's experience

As a project, and then as Senior Engineer, he enjoyed configuring, installing, and providing solutions on customers' sites, making sure each install was completed to the highest standard giving the end customer all the usability they could ask for.

Steve has also supported clients remotely and directly on-site to ensure solutions kept on working as they should. Outside of work, Steve lives in Redditch with his fiancée, Rachel, their one-year-old son Finley and their two dogs.
