Tyco Integrated Security (TycoIS), the leading security systems integrator, announces the availability of Kantech KT-1, a cost-effective, elegant and easy-to-install access control solution. Designed to scale for small- to medium-sized business (SMB) customers as well as enterprise customers, this single-entry controller offers the flexibility to expand with growing business security needs.

The KT-1 solution is part of TycoIS’ small business value line, extending commercial-grade security solutions to meet the needs of small business owners. The KT-1 solutions offers small- to medium-sized business customers a mobile based, easy-to-use and affordable access control solution.

“Small business owners typically have limited resources for security and require an affordable product and experienced partner to help protect their business,” said Steve Leitz, Director of Small Business, TycoIS. “Designed to address the individual challenges and unique needs of small businesses, the KT-1 solution leverages TycoIS’ experience and breadth of technologies to offer a tailored solution to protect what matters most to business owners – their people and assets – while allowing them to focus on their core business.”

Convenience and affordability

The KT-1 solution includes features like one touch set-up, via a touch-sensitive button, so users can get up and running quickly with minimal disruption to their daily business. With EntraPass Go app, customers can access the system remotely, making on-the-go access a reality. Furthermore, the solution’s sleek profile – appropriate for large and small facilities alike – provides a less distracting interface than traditional technology for a superior user experience.

Efficiency and scalability

The solution allows business owners to manage access to one door, but can also be expanded as needs change or as the business grows, connecting up to hundreds of KT-1 controllers into one access control system. Furthermore, the KT-1 solution supports two card readers to show both who enters and leaves the premises, which helps provide greater visibility and a safer environment for employees, visitors and customers. This feature also eliminates the need for expensive re-keying costs due to personnel and access requirement changes.
