ASSA has delivered mechanical security products for Helsingborg Arena, including cylinders, lock housings and accessories

300 doors have been equipped with ASSA dp 4400 high-security cylinders

Stadiums with areas that must occasionally be closed to the public pose security problems that require complex solutions. At Helsingborg Arena, ASSA met this challenge by supplying cylinders, lock housings, handles, accessories and automatic doors.

Since it opened in November 2012, the arena has become the main venue for indoor sports in Helsingborg in the south of Sweden. It is open to the public from 07.00 until 23.00 on weekdays, filling up with students from schools all over the city during the day and playing host to local sports clubs in the evening. The venue is also home to the local floorball club, whose men’s team plays in Sweden’s top division, and to Helsingborg’s handball club. Concerts are also held at the venue some weekends.

According to Operations Manager Charlie Fält, the challenge for the organisation at Helsingborg Arena is to combine daily operations, when the venue must be accessible to the public, with weekend events, when visitors may only access to selected parts of the arena.

“Making efficient use of the arena and the variety of activities place extra demands on us,” says Fält, adding that there may be an event on a Friday, a concert on a Saturday and a sporting event on a Sunday evening. And by 07.00 the following morning, the arena must be cleared and ready for the schoolchildren to come for their activities. “But so far, everything has been working great, thanks to our reliable and secure locking solutions,” he adds.

ASSA has supplied all the mechanical security products for Helsingborg Arena, including cylinders, lock housings, handles, accessories and automatic doors. About 300 doors have been equipped with ASSA dp 4400 high-security cylinders, ensuring the highest mechanical security level available for the arena.

ASSA has also worked with distributor and installer Swesafe in Malmö/Helsingborg to equip a large number of other doors, such as toilet doors, which do not require cylinders, with other clever and functional solution.
