DVTel, Inc., the IP video surveillance software technology pioneer, recently announced availability of its latest version of Latitude NVMS V6.2. This release gives operators and administrators greater configuration flexibility, ease of access for casual users through Internet Explorer, and an industry-first mobile video application feature that turns your Android phone into an IP video surveillance camera.

Latitude 6.2 also features transcoder improvements for remote viewing (outputs of H.264, MPEG4 or MJPEG), integrates new DVTel EV series encoders with audio support, and offers additional 3rd party camera support (beyond the current 300+ models) from Axis, Arecont, Bosch, Panasonic, Pelco, Sony and Cisco to name a few.

"DVTel is very pleased to bring this latest version of Latitude to market. We believe current users will benefit through its increased flexibility, improved performance and speed of set-up," said Ami Amir, EVP, Marketing and Products.

"We want to communicate to existing and potential customers that DVTel is committed to supporting a growing list of IP-based edge devices, giving our customers choice in what they connect to their VMS."

A new application has been developed by DVTel that turns Android smart phones into streaming IP video surveillance cameras - a revolutionary concept in the industry. Latitude 6.2 comes with a trial version of the application which is currently deployed in beta sites worldwide.
