DVTEL, INC., the video surveillance solutions provider, has announced the availability of two new design tools, developed to empower systems integration, consulting and design partners to build a surveillance solution, and prepare price quotes quickly and easily.

Built to streamline the system planning process, the DVTEL Online Design Tool increases productivity and efficiency for integrators by helping specify the most cost-effective, comprehensive solution available for a user’s specific application. It provides recommendations on camera and mounting options as well as a storage calculator. Users can easily export a quote to PDF or CSV to send in a comprehensive proposal. The DVTEL Online Design Tool is available through Microsoft Explorer or Google Chrome browsers, and is secured by SSL encryption.

The current version, available now, supports Horizon and Meridian systems, Quasar cameras and their mounting accessories, and Ariel encoders. DVTEL plans to add support for ioimage cameras and encoders, and updates will be automatically added when available.

With the new Building Information Modelling (BIM) REVIT models, architects, engineers and security consultants can easily add DVTEL 3D Quasar camera models into their security plans, ensuring accurate design and visualisation from the very early stages in a project’s development. Designers can access the most up-to-date camera information, select the desired mounting option, see field-of-view and generate a schedule report of all installed components.

BIM allows designers to leverage intelligent 3D modelling to plan and communicate project decisions. Overall, DVTEL BIM REVIT models assist in the design, visualisation and simulation of DVTEL technologies to ensure control and insight across the project lifecycle. The DVTEL BIM REVIT models are accessible online and available for download at the Autodesk® Seek database.

Both the DVTEL Online Design Tool and the DVTEL BIM REVIT models allow integrators and consultants to properly and easily design a solution for their customers without browsing through separate tools and interfaces to create a comprehensive proposal for customers.

“Our goal was to develop a simple yet useful tool to provide our partners with the support and information required to make intelligent choices that affect the reliability and value of the system design,” said Jicko Chetrit, Director of Product Marketing, DVTEL. “These resources deliver the knowledge to identify which technologies are best to support a customer’s security needs, today and into the future."
