ASSA ABLOY Security Doors supplied Powershield fire, acoustic and personnel doorsets to the project

Security Doors, a division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, has designed, supplied and installed over 700 steel doorsets at Canary Wharf.

25 Churchill Place is a 23-storey skyscraper, which is one of the most energy efficient buildings on the iconic London business district and is expected to achieve ‘excellent’ BREEAM rating. Previously derelict docklands, London’s Canary Wharf is now 15 million square feet of prime office, retail and leisure space, ever expanding thanks to property development and investment.

Security Doors supplied Powershield fire, acoustic and personnel doorsets to the project, some of which have a special polyester power coat for added durability, for the heavy traffic expected in the prime London office space.

The group solution from ASSA ABLOY also included automated doors and specialist blast rated doors to the post rooms, which have the ability to withstand the full force of a blast wave.

Chris Cole, Area Sales Manager for Security Doors, said: “This is our third prestigious project at Canary Wharf and we have enjoyed facing the complex issues that a building on that scale can produce.

“Every specification had to be made with fire safety and building efficiency in in mind, for what will be an extremely high traffic office space.

“When the office space is in full swing, creating the right brand for the companies based there will be fundamental; all of our doors are aesthetically pleasing and offer a professional finish that exudes a high-end feel.”

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ fire doors are tested in accordance with BS 476 Part 22 and EN 1634-1: 2000 and third party accredited under the Certifire Certification Scheme.
